Oh boy...started this thread so people can talk about the insane size of the game...now it turns into a bluray, disk swapping debate... oh well to those who are still interested, here's an interview.
[QUOTE="shalashaska88"]Ok, I'm basing this through video reviews, (I know, it's hardly fair) but from what I saw, it's just a linear shooter without the massive areas unlike these two games. (I mean look at BF3's MP maps!) So why the insanely huge requirements? Have you seen them? 2-16GB of RAM? Memory leak issues?? 8600GT to GTX680?? They're just listing what's the best thing you can put inside your casing! ChubbyGuy40
Crysis 2 is a linear shooter without massive areas. Serious Sam 3 has large areas, yet it doesn't even break 5GB.
Those aren't requirement. Those are what it supports (at the moment.) 2GB RAM and an 8600GT is the minimum. 16GB of RAM and a GTX 680 isn't the recommended.
Ok now compare those to Max Payne 3. Justified? Even Skyrim had a measly amount 5GB of files. What's Rockstar's excuse for the unnecessary hard disk space? Another lazy port?Doesn't look like a great port. Looks like my 6850 will run it on 30fps-ish. I give up. I'll just get the darned PS3 version. Can I have a link to that?Unless you want the game to run at 90+ FPS at 1080p, than you do need a 680:

[QUOTE="shalashaska88"]We'll see. It's hard to be optimistic when Rockstar seems to hate PC gamers with lame ports like GTAIV and LA Noire. Looking at your sig, I still kinda wish Remedy's the one doing MP3. At least Alan Wake's port on PC was fantastic. R4gn4r0k
They don't hate PC gamers, it's just that console gamers buy millions of their games. I did too as I didn't want to wait a year for a port eventhough I'd much rather buy the game on PC. With Max Payne 3 the wait doesn't seem to be that long and from what I heard (system specs as well as previews) the port seems to be a lot better than what we got in the past. This time I'm buying the PC version.
But yeah, Remedy would have done a much better port. On the other hand if Remedy developed Max Payne 3 we might not've had the awesome game that is Alan Wake.
I actually fall into that category too, I buy all their games, the console versions. But I'd rather play Max Payne 3 on PC, because I had good memories of playing first two games on PCs.
[QUOTE="shalashaska88"] Dude, BF3, Crysis 2 had hi res textures too. And they're MUCH bigger than Max Payne 3. I'm worried that this'll turn out like another GTA IV. If I can run BF3 at Ultra at a steady 40 to 50fps on a rather outdated machine, then this should be no problem. But I barely have 40GB of space...ChubbyGuy40
What do you mean bigger than MP3? File size? Crysis 2 was nothing. BF3 is only 15GB.
MP3 is also Rockstar's first PC-led game since...maybe it is the first. Unless all the textures are 4k size, it won't be 35GB. 25GB would be the highest and I really doubt it would be near that.
