I hate to hijack the thread, but my friend and I keep trying to join games together, but it says we have the wrong versions. I can never get ino servers he goes in, and vice versa.

How do we both bring our versions to the same thing?

Um, your PC is decent. I have almost the same rig, with a bit worse video card and a better processor, and I play things like Battlefield 2 on full settings and Oblivion on medium settings.

DOwnload some demos, see what runs well.

This is close to CS, but what about Battlefield 2?

In the MMO department, Star Wars Galaxies is sort of fun on land, but space combat is awesome.

I know SWG is sort of weak now, but if you've tried all these games, it'll be a couple months' breath of fresh air.

This is a tough one....

I liked the Archangel Tyrael from Diablo II.

The wing things were badass.

Can anyone give some details on how X-Fire works?

Isn't it more than just a voice program?

Well, I've played WoW, but not FFXI, so this is going on 50% "what I've read" and "what I've heard".

FFXI apparently gets to the point where it takes a group to do anything, and you'll sit for hours looking for people who need the same thing as you. I actually played it fora couple hours once, and I just couldn't get in to it.

With around 8-9 million subscribers, its easy to find a friend who plays WoW. It's a fun, easy game, and it's always a solid choice. I got bored with it to, after a year, and I haven't played it for a couple months.

Now? I am itching to load it back up and restart the grind, if you know what I mean.

So, personally, I'd go with World of Warcraft.

I don't like Guild Wars much, but I don't think of it as not being an MMORPG. Since everything MMO is compared to WoW, think of Guild Wars as a reverse WoW. Less open areas where you are able to interact with everyone else, and many, many more instances. Actually, 90% instance.

Ok, dumb comparison, but either way, GW is just a smaller scale MMORPG.

I played WoW for a year or so before I quit, and it's probably the best MMORPG out right now. Do I have th emost fun playing it, however? No. I'd prefer to play a different MMO. But it's the best designed game on the market.

I just don't play it.
