So, the VP of sales and marketing says the "sizzle reel" footage was in fact taken from Wii U games. Meanwhile... http://www.gamespot.com/news/e3-2011-wii-u-third-party-montage-actually-xbox-360-ps3-pc-footage-6318243
@metalgeb90 This demo was played on a high-end PC running nvidea hardware, according to PC Gamer. If it does come to current-generation consoles, it won't look like this.
@mizar_12 Well yes and no, there are always people who will resist changes made to the formula (ironically), but Dead Space has been a survival-horror affair. Adding "help" in the form of a new buddy will probably dilute the horror for a lot of people (as it did in Resident Evil 5).
@Teggert Yeah I did notice that the hit markers didn't show up with every gun in the video. Hopefully you're right and the smart gun will be very hard to come by.
I'm excited about this. One thing I think is weird (as this is nit-picky for sure) is the hit markers. In a survival/horror game, hit markers might take away some of the fear. Like, you can't see the enemy cause it's in a shadow or whatever, but you shoot and you get those hit markers, so you're like, "It's cool, I got the thing." Without the markers, the player doesn't actually know if he hit the monster.
