I'm right on economic issues (I believe the government should have no control over the economy except for a few regulations here and there), and I'm left on social issues (besides being pro-life, except for in cases of rape, I 'm all left: legalize gay marriage, let people smoke weed, I don't care what people do as long as it doesn't hurt someone else). I think I'm a Libertarian, although I'm not exactly sure on what that means, I take it as being left on social issues and right on fiscal issues.

I don't understand the controversy of gay marriage at all. After all, a marriage is really just a document and a ceremony declaring that you're BFF's with benefits. If someone else's "benefits" aren't your cup of tea, why does it matter? Most people take care of those "benefits" in private anyway. And whoever pointed out that Newt here had extra-marital sexual relationships proves that he does not understand the concept of marriage at all, so who is he to say who should and shouldn't get married.

Tone-deaf talentless auto-tuned noise-polluter.

(no)

I don't understand why people constantly insult people for using auto-tune. When people like Kanye use auto-tune, they're using it for an interesting effect like adding distortion to a guitar or reverb. He's not trying to fool anyone. Now there are other people who use the auto-tune much more subtly (which is to actually make them sound better and not just like a robot) and then try to tell everyone they're a good singer. That is wrong. lol

Because the electoral system heavily favors the two major parties to the point where voting for a third party is completely futile, and in many cases counterproductive. This unfortunate reality is why we desperately need proportional representation. -Sun_Tzu-
Very true. I don't understand why we don't have the capability to count each vote and do away with the electorial college. I really wish a Libertarian could be president. It's the party that makes the most sense to me, economic freedoms (for the anti-big-gov't/socialism conservatives) and social freedoms (for the gay rights, social equality, perhaps marijuana legalizing liberals). Everything America stands for in my eyes. Democrats suck in hippies with enviromentalism, gay marriage and various other social freedoms, and then traps them by wanting to control the economy, which is the exact "big brother" fears of most hippies. Republicans suck people in by saying they'll keep America from turning communism and being a "big brother" government, but then keeps them down by saying they should all be the same, church-going, heterosexual, rich white people.

I suppose kinda once. I've only had two girlfriends. One in middle school, not a real relationship, instant messaging and **** like that. My next girlfriend was in high school. I actually knew her because she was my middle school girlfriends older friend, she was kind of trashy..lol when I met her first iwas with my middle schoole girlfriend at the rec and she was making out with a scary gangster type.

When I got in high school, she started talking to me, I had kinda had a crush on her and I guess I somehow made an impression on her. Anyways we had a normal relationship. I would go over to her house in the trailor park and we would watch movies lol. She told me she liked me because I was a nice guy, unlike all other male figures in her life.

It ended after I constantly accused her and my best friend of flirting with each other (so high school right?) My friend did actually ask er out right after we broke up..soo it wasn't all paranoid selfishness on my part. It got even more screwed up when, after I quit talking to my best friend, he got in a freak hockey accident, almost died, and became terribly brain damaged. The girl got pregnant by the next loser boyfriend she had after me (and after she turned my best friend down), which is exactly what I was trying to protect her from.

That was all like freshmen year, I'm about to graduate (only my 3rd year in high school though), and I've kinda avoided getting in any real girlfriend kind of relationships. Altough I've realized every girl I've almost got involved with has been the same kind of damsel in distress, that doesn't have a single good person in their life. I don't know if I go for the desperate because they're easier to impress, or because there's some part of my subconcious that senses these girl sorrows before they even tell me their story and forces me to be attracted to them.

WOW just wow, feel sorry for you and her mate

Thanks for the sympathy. ha. I've actually talked to her recently, she's living with the dude, so I guess his family is taking care of her and the baby, which makes me feel better. But they both dropped out of high school, so I have no idea what they think they're gonna do with their lives.

Gonna have to go with a strong no.

I've heard a few people say he's a lyrics genius. I'm not sure I even consider him lyrically noteworthy.

I'll agree he's no Bob Dylan...but as far as hip-hop goes, espcially mainstream hip-hop, he's certainly more clever than others and raps about more things than drugs, money, and sex...he still raps about those things occasionally, but he proves he has the intellect to think about and make you think about more important things.

There are too many stubborn politicians and cops in the US for marijuana to be given a chance in most states. It would be nice if it were legal; maybe America could take some examples from Amsterdam and such places. They have better living conditions etc. than the US AND pot is legal. Hmmmm.

They're actually trying to crack down on it in Amsterdam. They've closed a lot of coffee houses and there's this Christian political party that's trying to re-write the hash laws. They're trying to say that dealers who sell hard drugs are using the coffee houses for metting places, but I don't know how much truth there is to their claims.

I don't see how that could be any worse than drug dealers hanging around in bars.

[QUOTE="dunl12496"]

That's ridiculous. Saying that if marijuana was legal, people will use it like cigarettes is like saying that since hard liquor is legal, people will drink as much of it as soda.

[QUOTE="dunl12496"]

If it were to become legal, what do you think drug dealers would do? Give up? No, I say this: the people who sell drugs will push to sell harder dangerous drugs such as crack, and heroin, among other things. Not only that but marijuana does impact your thinking and motor skills.

Drug dealers don't really push people to buy weed, they come to them. Once those people are around drug dealers that's when they get pushed to try harder drugs like crack. That's why the gateway theory is irrelevant. 99% of people that hang around drug dealers first started hanging around them for weed, no one goes straight for meth. But if weed was legal, then those people wouldn't be victims of those criminals. People mixed up in illegal drug world be cut to less than half. If you want proof, look at alcohol prohibition. As soon as alcohol was illegalized, America's organized crime world developed almost over night. Alcohol was made legal, and now how many beers do you think are sold illegally (not counting to minors, because that's just going to happen regardless).

I've seen it happen - pot pushers hanging around school yards giving away pink hash cookies and then three weeks later those who succumbed are selling their festering bodies in the gutter pleading for a another hit of resin they can inject into their eyeballs.

lol, I wasn't supporting the gateway theory, I was just saying that if it is true in any sense it's because weed is illegal. If herb were legal, it would be no more of a gateway drug than alcohol is...which ironically for me was the only thing weed led to (my teen years were spent in a hippie town where weed was actually more acceptable among high schoolers than alcohol).

Kanye West is a million times better than any of the other rappers that receive any mainstream attention. There is no doubting that he is much more talented, hard-working, and creative than just about everybody else in the game plus he produces probably 30% of the rest of mainstream hip-hop (that might be hyperbolic), meaning he creates everything but the lyrics. Pretty much any artist of the hip-hop genre as good or better than him will be somebody that most people have not heard of because their lyrics go even further than Kanye's in the way of writing about real feelings instead of just going to the club.

Plus, have you listened to his new album? It's dark, it's depressing, it's weird, it's creative, there's a track that's a violin/piano instrumental, hate it or love it, at least he's doing something different and not promoting the same brain-washed, redundent music the rest of mainstream is.
