Those actually look decent, and definitely have seperate speakers... hmm

So i picked up some turtle beach X31s and... honestly i think they sound pretty bad. i can tell that they are stereo for sure, and they dont even support optical or spdif...

Can anyone direct me in the way of some nice, true 5.1 headphones for xbox360 with all the fancy features. ill pay whatever i need to pay after i sell these. hundreds of dollars? no issue. basically if its under 200 ill buy them

anyone, please help me out here.

im dyin. hehe.

thanks

Alright, i guess i should clear some things up.

First-yes this is for console. 360 to be exactly. please dont turn this into a PC vs 360 or whatever type of thing, i dont care. i play PC and 360 equally, but i couldnt care less about the phones working with my PC. just the console for now.

moving on-
I have an amazing surround sound system, and i even have a pair of true 5.1 headphones. problem is that they dont have the built in MIC. I liked them quite a bit, even though they didnt sound the best ever. They did provide me with a digital decoder, and it actually worked.(i know because im crazy and i checked each specific speaker in the headset blah blah blah)

i KNOW for a FACT that people out there want to say there are only 1 or 2 pairs on the market, but i know this cant be true anymore. it was true about 3 or 4 years ago and i cant imagine a company at this point has not stepped up their game. no way. people told me when i purchased these other pair that there were only 1 pair. guess i found the only other pair in the world that were not the expensive brand... hmm.

anyways, not trying to be a jerk about it, but i know someone out there must have a decent pair, or at least know of some that arent 500 dollars.

so i ask again!
where can i get some decent true 5.1 headphones. i have a pair of regular ones, and they are cool and everything, but i can tell that its just stereo, and it drives me nuts(cause im a crazy a-hole)

thanks

I also posted this in audio/hardware, so please dont kill me. i just want the most responses and all. im not trying to be rude.

I am looking for a reasonably priced pair of true 5.1 gaming headphones with a mix and everything. I wont go into the gritty details, but I will say that I have done my research, and i know the difference between the turtle beach etc brands claiming to have 5.1(because they have pro logic, or SUPPORT dolby digital), and eveything else.

I have looked a bit but im so tired from work and school all the time i just dont want to take hours to research this, so i thought i would ask my fellow gaming community if they have had any luck. i was looking at the tritton AX360s, and they look pretty legit, but im still not sure... its been a long ass day.

If anyone could help me out, anything, any price, preferably cheaper, but anything will do really. i just want something that actually seperates the channels, rather than just tricks my brain into THINKING that there are seperate sounds. i want footsteps and gunfire behind me to REALLY come from back speakers. blah blah blah.

anyone?

and thanks so much in advance guys.

I also put this in general discussion so please dont murder me for being a jerk.

Hmmm... that only shows that it works for the dashboards i metioned... lame.

thanks though, at least i know so far its kind of lacking in that department. whatever, ill live. just wish that everything was integrated and i wanna whine about it because it seems easy to me(why not just add a slide bar you can grab to ALL menus, why not let me program my own voice for certain things etc etc like i said before)

alright. if anyone has any additional info, that would be great.

OK, so today i went out and bought myself an early christmas present, obviously it was the kinect.

I like it and everything, but it seems that there are very few things that actually utilize the controls or anything. whatever, thats still fine with me. its early.

My question is about the voice controls. Can i only use "stop, play, pause" from last.fm, or can i bring up my xbox music, video, or dashboard at any point?

if i can only use kinect when i go to the kinect dasboard thing, i have to say, thats pretty... lame. unless they make it so everything thats used in my xbox can be used on this "kinect dashboard" or whatever. being able to play my music and pause and do most usual things that require me to actually STOP PLAYING in order to go into a menu and change things would probably be my favorite feature(the motion is nice too, ha).

so let me get this straight, the only thing i can actually do is say like 10 phrases(or less) to make the kinect do things, and ONLY if im sitting in the kinect dash? is that right? i think this thing should be smarter. maybe im just a tech dork, but i know that quite a few things could be awesome if it would be at all intelligent. it could learn and work through all your BS and menus and whatever, and voice commands and motion commands could be somewhat programmable. its just a frakkin bar that you swipe, i dont understand why this cant be in ALL menus...

meh, im just bitter. i was ready for it to do nothing, but not NOTHING NOTHING.

anyone know something i dont?

thanks.

When i said i had not used the site in 2 years, i guess i meant more on the side of writing or posting. i read things all the time from this place, and i check the boards quite a bit in order to garner an accurate view of games from fans VS the reviews(usually both are quite biased).

SORRY guys. lol.

just sayin.

Something like this -

If i already have a gamer profile on my regular 20 gig HDD drive and i want to save, oh, say, fallout 3 DLC(botherhood of steel) or maybe assassins creed 2 with the extra sequences, or a game save, or an arcade game or something like that, would i be able to do it without problems?

so i would imagine that i sign in through my regular HDD and then i can choose to save things to the USB after im done with, and from there i could access the DLC through my profile on the HDD *ON* the other drive/flash drive. right?

or am i just crazy, and its not this easy. because honestly i dont want to buy another HDD for the box, id rather just hook myself up with the USB stick that i already have.

thanks
