Sessu finally felt his weight being too much on his one hand. His hand finally slipped, as did his will to go on. The stair disappeared almost the same second as his hand fell. He dropped into the pit below, putting his arms around himself as the air blew past him.
But not too long after he landed with a sharp "thud" onto ground. With a grunt, he spread his arms onto the ground. "Ow...", he muttered, keeping his eyes closed in pain.
"****, this can't be good for my back... Ammo, I swear to god, when this is over, I'm breaking your back.", he heard a certain elf-hating voice say.
"What?! What did I do?!"
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have fallen!"
"Guys, STOP arguing. All of us fell. Sly, even if you hadn't tried to save Ammo, you probably still would've fallen eventually.", Sessu sighed in relief at hearing the elf's voice as he leaned up. He looked around the area. It was lightly lit by a few fires and a strange light coming from the one passageway. While he didn't know where the light was coming from, he was betting that the others made the fires.
"Well, it's good to see you didn't get knocked unconscious from the fall... Unlike someone.", Reiko finally acknowledged Sessu's sudden appearance after noticing he was still awake, and pointing at the currently unconscious Aidan, who was also currently being poked with a stick by Sly.
"Conscious... But in pain.", Sessu grunted, rubbing his lower back with his hand. Reiko kneeled down next to Sessu, putting her hand on his back, and moving her hand up and down, starting to sooth the pain.
Sly jumped up, tossing the stick into one of the fires, and running and sitting next to Ammo. With a few groans, Aidan leaned up, massaging his left arm.
"Aidan, have you finally woken up?, Courtney asked. The male nodded. "Does your back hurt?"
"No... But my arm feels like someone was jabbing something into it...", Aidan said cluelessly. Sly whistled, examining her nails.
"Well... Since everyone has consciousness and isn't in any severe pain... Should we continue on?", Shin asked as he stood up, putting his sword back around his waist. Soul stood up next to him.
"... Yeah. We should. We don't have much time to waste any more.", the elven leader stood up, placing her sword in its sheath. After hearing this from their leader, everyone nodded and stood up, grabbing their weapons. The group headed towards the passageway. With a deep breath, Reiko stepped onwards, everyone following closely behind her.
The passage was lit by torches, though they could all see even greater lightahead. Finally, after only about 30 seconds of walking, they found the end. They stepped outof the narrow corridor, a found themselves in a large colosseum, or arena. No one really knew what to call it, butit was quiet.Suddenly, out of seats, they all heard rattling, and clanking. They all grabbed onto their weapons, ready to fight.
It truly startled them when out of the seats... They saw skeletons rise, some even in armor, leaning against the stone that kept them from the arena.
"What the...?", Shin tightened his grip on his sword.
Aidan shrieked, and jumped into the nearest person's arms... Which happened to be Sly's. She dropped him, and started looking around, noticing that the skeletons weren't carrying weapons... Nor trying to find a way to get to the warriors.
"Well, it doesn't seem like they want to hurt us... Then what are they looking at us for?", Courtney asked, lightly shaking.
Then, a loud roar went through the arena, startling everyone, even Sly. The skeletons started 'clapping', making loud clattering noises fill up and echo through the area.
"... I think we got an answer...", the girl pulled out her sword, ready to fight. Everyone else followed suit.
A large, fiery pit formed in the middle of the arena. The warriors could feel the heat from fire and flames coming from the hole. Then, two huge 'paws' came from the pit, liftingthe rest of the huge beast out.
Though it had a bit of resemblance to a canine, it looked much, MUCH more twisted. Rather than fur, the tail of this beast had nothing on it-- No skin, no fur. It was simply bone. It's claws looked as though they were of a solid metal. It's eyeswere blood red. On it's back, bone was sticking through it's skin and 'fur', shaped similarly to spikes, which were engulfed in fire.
The pit closed back up after the beast had pulled itself out completely. It looked at the group of friends... And let out another roar, much louder than the previous.
"... Holy ****.", Sly muttered, her eyes widening.
Okay, I know I just posted a little story not too long ago, but I felt like posting the next part of The Great Legend.
