I went to my local gamestop for the midnight launch of MGS4 around 11pm. As I walk in I was immediately approached by a clerk who inquired why I was here. I tell him that I want to buy the MGS4 bundle and that if he has anymore available. He nods and said they have 1 left and to get in line to get it. I jump in line rather excited and start talking to the others waiting to pass time. 15 minutes to twelve some girl walks in and the clerk I spoke to approached her and asked what she wanted. She also said she wanted to bundle and he said, " We have 1 left, get in line." After their little encounter the guy infront of laughs and says to me that he found it funny because that clerk also said they had 1 left when he came in. I just shrugged off the clerks comments thinking it was just a ploy for us to stay in line and make sure we grab a copy. As twelves hits, I walk up to the counter and ask for the bundle. The cashier tells me, "Oh i'm sorry, we promised the last bundle to the girl back there." I'm kinda in shock right now and turn to the clerk I first spoke to and say that he told me they had a bundle left for me to buy when I came in. He covered his mouth with his hand and said, "I thought you meant the limited edition of MGS4 not the bundle." I was speechless for a moment. I gathered my thoughts and call him out on his lie. I responded saying that they had 15 copies of the limited edition on the counter so why would he say they had only 1? He didn't have answer. I turn back to the cashier and say that I doesn't matter if you promise the last bundle to the woman 8 people behind me. I came in before her and stood in line. I was told that you weren't taking pre-orders or reservations for the bundle so its first come first serve. Not sell it to whoever the hell you want to service. The cashier shrugged his shoulders and simply said, "Guess you're out of luck." Then I was instructed that if i'm not going to buy anything to leave the store. I turn around and storm out. For me the isn't even that I wasn't able to buy the bundle, its the discrimination that is getting to me. If I came in late and they sold out that's fine. But coming in early just to be refused to be sold a copy because they prefer to sell it to someone else is ridiculous. I never faced a situation like that before and don't know what to do. I'm honestly considering filing discrimination charges against that store just to place the fear of god into them. I don't like these kind of events happening and I want to prevent them from happening in my neighborhood. I guess I just need to vent a bit because now I can't even sleep because of how agitated I am. If anyone has some calming words that be great. Get over it. I would of sent you packing too for some hottie. Anyday of the week. Maybe in the future you should wear a white tank top and skimpy orange shirts. You were not discriminated against, the nerds behind the counter are just desperate. I mean come on they work at Gamestop. If it makes you feel any better I will bet my copy of MGS4 that the girls he gave the bundle to did not give that loser any play.
