[QUOTE="skipnfamily"][QUOTE="tomo90"]lol you think I'm a 360 Nut? you havn't seen anything yet go on the system wars forum and you'll be completely freaked out.
Anywho regardless, firstly yes there is a 2nd Knights of the Old Republic however its not on 360 its for the first xbox. If you get the hard drive you'll be able to play both of them, however you can only play the old xbox games with a hard drive as you need to download a update from the xbox website and it won't work on anything other than a hard drive. Heres the list of current old xbox games you can play on the 360 if you have the hard drive... http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm .
Secondly I actually originally bought the arcade (basic) xbox as it was the only one I could find when the 360 was released as all the premiums had sold out. I worked by way up by buying the hard drive second then live last. As you can't get live without the hard drive. So theres no problem with getting the arcade xbox and getting onto live.

SYTEM WARS section is funny. Actually I got most of my info in there. And it is a joke. No real NUTS here, well maybe a couple. Much more crap can be talked about the 360 though. There aint much to say about the PS3. It isn't breaking every 5 minutes.
GB2 your ps3 section you cow. The ps3 has horrible games and horrible live, whereas the 360 doesn't. It has fantastic games and exclusives as well as amazing live, not to mention the new falcon chips recude the chance of rrod by 22%. The 360 only has a 10% chance of hardware failure, whereas the ps3 has %5. No big deal. This is proof that people are anal on here. I am getting a 360. Even with all the crap calling. Wow. I love stepping into all this childish stuff. I am debating on size now. Size does matter, right? LOL
I just got a 360 and im lovin it, I got the arcade with a used 20gigHD for $260. I used to rag on it all the time
cause im a serious sony fan. Now im playing so much halo 3 and oblivion its ridiculous. you should get it if your
just lookin for some good gamage.

A used storage. I should look for that to keep it cheaper. Or I just get the 60gb for $299. I am all about saving money though. My laptop has a crazy, huge memory and I am using like 10 % of it is all. I dont think I need a big storage. I think MsCortana has me nailed down already along with you. A 20gb would be good. As long as I get a Jasper Chip one. Thanks.
[QUOTE="skipnfamily"]I will probably get the Arcade just because it's cheaper and the odds of playing online all the time is slim to none. Full time job, married and I have 2 kids. Not much time after all that to go onto Live and play for 4 hours straight.
Who here has an Arcade? Anyone with an Arcade have problems playing in the Live area? Do we have to download something to play online with friends?

Well I'm not sure if it was stated already or not, but for some games, yes some FPS, you will need the harddrive to support the graphics that the game requires. Sure the Arcade is appealling for its relatively cheaper price, but its well worth it to invest in the 60gb or the 20 gb if thats still out. I understand the finance situation too, I myself and a college student paying for gas, apartment, food, books, entertainment, and thats not easy either. Sure its not kids and a full time job, but its comparible. Just think about it a little more is all I'm saying.
[QUOTE="skipnfamily"]I will get an arcade or a 60gb. The 20gb they dont make anymore if I recall. So they wont have new chips in them.
MsCortana
If you don't plan to get live then the arcade is the obvious choice, however, you will eventually need a hard drive if you want to access certain content on Xbox live. If you are a Netflix subscriber live will also prove to be beneficial in the future as well. So, you gage the odds of you guys actually needing or wanting access to live to determine whether or not you need or want anything more than the arcade.
If your family only plans to use this console on occasion, as you mentioned not having a lot of time, then you need nothing more than the arcade, so that may be a better fit.
Oh, and thanks for you previous comment on the avatar. :D
You are VERY welcome. VERY NICE.
After seeing the old games you can play on the 360 it makes me want to get the one with some memory. How much memory does the downloads use to play KOTOR and stuff like that?

I have an eight year old and Live is a must for both of us. It's definitely a solid investment purchasing the 360. I would recommend a 20gb at the very least. Once you experience Live you will love it. Plus you want access to the great arcade games on live. There is quite an expansive collection and much of the content is family friendly. Like Castle Crashers and all the originals we grew up on like Pac-man etc... To be honest, my son tends to play more arcade games then he does anything else.
Also the parental controls are great as well and actually do what they were intended to do.

Thank you for your advice,. Very much appreciated. Nice Avatar. I think I will go with the 360 just don't know which one. I will get an arcade or a 60gb. The 20gb they dont make anymore if I recall. So they wont have new chips in them.

woah woah, slow down there. PS3 is more expensive a console than the 360 so the amount that you have to pay extra for the 360 (hard drive, adaptor and live) eventually equals the price of a PS3. The xbox is where it is at when it comes to gaming, agreed maybe the ps3 offers more hardware from the start but it also offers much lower quality software and lacks the live experience. I can understand how complicated a decision it is however I would still highly recommend Xbox over PS3 anyday and I have both so I'm not being bias.

I just am really investigating everything hardcore. I dont want to screw this up. 360 sounds good and the new library of games that I have never played. There are games from the begining that I obviously have not played. The PS3 just has everything right off the bat. I really dont see as many people talking about how good it is. There are by far more 360 NUTS (joke) out there, hypeing it up.
Wasn't Knights of the Old Republic an xbow only game? Isn't there a second one in the works. That would be worth buying the 360 alone if it was an exclusive.
