[QUOTE="skipnfamily"]It almost seems better to get a PS3 then. Wifi is seperate, live costs money. PS3 live thingy isn't as good yet but its free. And it has Wifi already. This is a complicated decision._Donnelly_

Yes but it will still cost you more to get a PS3, even if you buy Xbox 360, Xbox live and a Wifi adaptor. At the end of the day it's about the games you want to play, I think 360 has a better line up of games, and better FPS games. But I would never tell someone what console to buy. You should look at the games coming out for each console and see what you like.

Makes sense to me. I will probably get the 360 and wait till next year for the PS3. I just dont think I will use hardly any storage space. I dont on the PS2. 2 memory cards and thats it.

If I play Halo 3 online do I need the 60gb one or can I technically still play online with the Arcade version. I have a laptop for movies and music. I dont need the 360 to do that stuff. You know what I mean.

It sounds like people have a tendancy to be real annoying online. Surprise, surprise. No big deal.

I have never played an xbox or an xbox 360. I have not even picked up a controller by xbox. So that is the main reason I want to get it. So I can play all these 360 exclusives and of course the Halo games look fun as hell.

So I could get the Arcade and a year down the road I could get the memory storage attachment for $100 if not cheaper by then. $199 seems like a good price. That is actually what I bought my ps2 for. Fair enough.

Ethernet cable. That will be hard. My modem is downstairs. How much is the WiFi adapter? Does it work ok?

Seems like I need to get the 60gb. Are there a lot of games that use 2 discs or need a lot of memory? I dont play rpg's if that helps. I am strictly a FPS guy. And kids games for my son.

What do other people think.

Thank you very much. My son keeps playing games over and over. Especially Star Wars. He still plays Battlefront. So 60gb is needed if you do all the live stuff. Cool.

I am strictly a PS1 and PS2 guy. Never dove into any other pool. Well accept for the Atari 7800 and Intellivision for you old school people. And of course the NES and SNES.

I love FPS games. The 360 seems like the smart thing to do, besides the problems, i.e., rrod and the other problems. 3 year warranty and the newer ones should be better I guess. I do not go online to the live things and never have. My son and me play for fun and dont get real serious. I am debating on an Arcade model, but dont want to screw myself if I dont get the 60gb. I have some questions.

1)Since I wont be online and downloading tons of stuff should I stick with the cheaper Arcade model? All my saves will be able to fit. I might at some point play on the Live thing with CoD or Halo or something. Will I need the bigger storage for that?

2) Will the newer Jasper chips be in the Arcade model? I wont be buying for another month or two.

3) How reliable are the headsets and controllers and stuff like that?

4) Is the Live thing really that COOL? I mean are some of you in your mid 30's playing online or are you all young and think it's the best thing ever. Seriously. Everyone talks so highly of it. Do you nee the WiFi thing to do this?

My son turned 7 in May. We got him Force Unleashed. He finished it in 2 days. Both ways. He's freakin' good. He would get a kick out of the Live thing I am sure.

Peace out and thanks for the help people. I enjoy this place big time. Great articles and topics. Good job to all of you who belong.

Thanks, Skip

I want to get an xbox. Need some advice. Out of all the xbox's sold how many actually crap out. I am assuming a good amount have no problems. I am a PS2 and PS1 guy. I love shooter games. Xbox sounds like my type of thing and cheaper. Should I really worry about the rrod as much on the newer ones? And I am strictly into just playing games. Nothing special. Probably wont even due the Live thing. Should I get an Aracade with less memory or an Elit or whatever the next one up is called? How important is the memory on these? Any help would be nice. Thanks much.
