I thought Sim City was so vastly complex that one single PC would be unable to handle it? That the 'always online' requirement was simply so EA's servers could help? Isn't that what they told us before the game launched? And now it's going offline...hmmmm....
There's no story to tell, so you've got this studio sitting around thinking about how it's going to force this movie into existence, because the focus numbers said it will make millions. Sounds like a winner.

There's no guarantee they'll make enough money from the sales of part 1 to fund the completion of part 2. I think it's great that Tim Schafer wants to make the best game he can, but this is going outside the bounds of what was discussed on the Kickstarter campaign. It's not good to screw with consumer trust after you personally asked for it on camera.
