So I bought another PS3 for a bigger hard drive capacity, but when I plug it in (just on standby mode) theres a high pitched noise comng from the back (just by the serial number). Now this is where the transformer would be, and my other slim makes the same noise only you have to strain to hear it with your ear pressed against it which is why I'm worried about this one as its much louder. Its nothing compared to the early xbox 360s, but I don't want their to be some sort of electrical fault. Has anyone else got a similar problem?
If you don't know Overscan is what the majority of TVs out there do, they don't show you the whole picture. Because the edges of videos and programmes arn't guarenteed as good quality as the rest of the picture, e.g. rough or blured, televisions will actually zoom slighty. You can see what I mean if you watch a video file on your PS3 in normal or origionalmode (soo its generally alot smaller than your screen) then change it to full screen if you can but notice the edges of the shot in each mode, you should lose some of the picture.
This only started bugging me when I got a tv that could turn off overscan for my HDMI so I could see everything on my PS3, but my new tv doesnt have this feature and its anoying me abit. But what I also noticed was that the PS3 does compensate for this, but only on the web browser. So why cant it have a universal setting for this for games and videos?
Is there away to have two people signed in at once like on the 360? Just anoys me when im played two player and they're coming up as username(2) or whatever so whenever one of us gets a trophy it only shows up on one players trophy list no matter who unlicked it.
So the trackpad/touchpad/mouse on my laptop has a toplayer that has started to peel away in just one corner. Its a thin sheet of metal and im presming its glued down.
Any ideas how to stick it back down? Should I remove the casing or try and peel it off?
Im phoning Sony about it tomorow but doubt they can do anything seeing as I got it off ebay. Seller claimed it was faultless though and ive had it less than a week.
Anyone had this problem, you turn on the PS3 (either after a night, or 5 minuetes of being off) and it tries to turn on then beaps, flashes the yellow light once then starts flashing red. But then when you turn it on again just after it works fine?
Keeps hapeneing to mine so dont know what to do as it cant be a problem with overheating.
