No idea.. I can't even see the differense, and fps is same off/on.

Is it not working or what?

buriedtwice
Nah its working fine, just saw on a forum that it gives quite a good fps boost which would be nice when theres lot of action going on.

[QUOTE="sn4k3_64"][QUOTE="soldine"]

btw, I gots a question. Is the setting SSAO worth it?

soldine

SSAO is just for the shadows i believe, so if you want nicer looking shadows with more depth, then probably, but its known to have a performance hit, with your gpu it wouldnt matter :P so yes!

Lol, the thing is that when I couple SSAO with 4x anti aliasing I hover around 30-40 FPS sometimes dropping to 26 in close ups, with both off I get 50-60 FPS.

EDIT: the game is NTW.

I dont know what game that is lol but anyway just turn it off then, i doubt you'll see much of a difference. In burnout they have that option, and on my old card once i turned it off i got a huge increase of about 20 fps, and it never dropped below 60 after turning it off.

Is it worth having this setting on? I mean it runs smoothly, but i heard turning it off can give an increase of 15 or more fps which is great. Is HBAO just for shadows, and is there much of a difference turning it off?

[QUOTE="acsam12304"]

for a while now people are saying that a GTX 570 can OC to GTX 580 speeds. like how the GTX 460 can go to a GTX 470 speeds.

so i beg the question if i get a GTX 570 its like getting a GTX 580 but in big money savings right?

if thats teh case then ill save up and get a GTX 570 then :D

hitman6actual
Yeah you can get it up to the 580s speeds, and get within a few frames performance wise, but I am almost certain this cannot be achieved without some voltage tweaking, which can be a real pain unless you really know what your doing. Just go all out for the 580. You will not regret it. Be advised though, your going to see a small to moderate bottleneck, especially with the 580, even with your OC on your CPU.

A bottleneck on a quad core?! Srsly! o0

Too bad I bought Crisis Maximum edition full price a few months ago.... I don't think I'm buying anything today, maybe DiRT 2.

Forgot dirt 2, when it comes to the rallying i think they actually expect you to have been a rally driver before hand, its so difficult.

I really dont see why tf2 is soo hyped, i tried to play it many times but i end up becoming bored after a short while. Anyway my top fps of all time is cs 1.6. I also like css, left 4 dead 2 and quake 3.

Slightly off topic, but what is the point of say 32x AA? I mean i cant really tell the difference between 4x and 8x aa o.0

Im going to agree with some of the other's on dirt 2, that game runs very smoothly, i can run it at average of 63 fps with 8xaa all maxed @ 1080p so your gtx 470 would tear through it. Batman AA as mentioned runs great as well maxed with AA, bc2 also seems to be well optimized although havent gone into the mp yet
