no offence to Americans but weren't the Chinese on the verge of kicking you guys off of the Korean Peninsular before the cease fire in the Korean War at one point Douglas MacArthur was begging Truman for the permission to use Nukes not trying to offend anyone but that was when China was basically a vassal state wasn't truly united can you imagine what they can do now that's something i would rather not see with or without Nukes .

one also has to wonder if this is North Korea's response to the Missal Shield deal between the United States and Russia that would render any Nuclear Capability for Iran & North Korea useless .

[QUOTE="Head_of_games"] WWIII? Maybe, in the sense that it's the entire world vs NK. :P I doubt any of their allies would defend an unprovoked attack.Fox-Call

I say WWIII in the context that it's a brief, but catastrophic nuclear exchange wiping out most of the Northern Hemisphere.

North Korea has enough for about 6 small nukes. They could take out major cities in South Korea but I don't think they even have the ability to hit Europe or USA.

North Korea doesn't even have the capacity to strike Japan they tried to prove they did a few months back by deliberately firing Missals over Japan but the Missals all landed in the Ocean before they maybe there targets they might be able to strike places in South Korea tho but on a global scale North Korea's Nuclear Strike Capability is a joke next to the U.S Russia China The UK and France .

To be fair the Catholic nations have been considered 'backwards' since the beginning of the industrial era. Since money lending was considered a sin, the middle class couldn't industrialize in nations like Spain or France since they lacked funds to get industry off the ground. I don't think it's fair to call the catholic church out of touch within modern society; they just have their own set of convictions to abide by.buldog300

i would agree to an extent with what you say Catholic Nations on a whole since the Industrial Revolution have been less productive than Protestant Nations Great Britain is a perfect example of this it maintained its Christen values but had great Religious and Social Freedom than Say France & Spain and the result was it Industrialised nearly 100 years ahead of the rest of Europe the United States could also be used as an example in a similar fashion in that it is a Nation of many Cultures and Faiths but at its rout it Values are more in line with a Protestant Nations .

Why do people thrive on being anti-religion?

Theokhoth

religion has caused more wars and killed more people than anything else in history.i think the question should be why do we thrive on religion?

Religion has caused more wars than, say, land disputes or political rifts? I find that hard to believe.

first of all this Argument has been done to death so shouldn't be revisited secondly usually when there is a dispute between countries and peoples it will be because of a deference in Religion or Beliefs and the larger of the 2 countries might decided to force there beliefs on the other like it or not Religion has been the biggest cause of War in Human History and still is to this day .

however what i would say in the defence of Religion is that the Religions themselves don't tell the people to fight only man can make that decision like it or not every Religion has its idiots with very bigoted views and opinions .

I am honestly surprised at how relevent religion still is in this day and age...

I ...yeah... I guess i'll stop there.

I can understand how people can think it's primal or unlogical or hatever, but why do people need to make it a priority to bash religion or make others feel dumb for being religious?

its not dumb my Grandparents are Protestants Anglican to be more specific so i would never belittle someone for there beliefs however what is dumb is telling Africans they cant use Condoms cause the Church doesn't condone it even tho the Church knows full well these people are at risk of Diseases that will kill them .

Sorry TC, but that graph does not give an accurate depiction of wealth comparison between countries. If you look at GDP using purchasing power parity, you'll get a better picture (if yet still flawed) than that graph you have up there. GDP (PPP) of the US last year was ~$14 trillion, while China was ~$9 trillion. cybrcatter

very true PPP is the true weight of a Nations Financial and Industrial might .
