A marathon? Then I suppose the to-be-released Kenyan built console will be the victor.

It's slowing edging towards an MMO - this would be a horrible direction to go in, but it seems inevitable once the audience and budgets hit a certain threshold.

All 3 consoles have excellent exclusives, so the argument goes in circles.

The best they could probably do is provide DLC for a woman character in GTA V - besides that, they seem to have no conception as to why a woman would be in a game...

@frozenux I don't know why you think the goal of the console is to "catch up". It isn't at all. The goal of the console is to provide a consistent basis for a library of games to be played on. This is why I argue that PC doesn't qualify as a platform - because this goal is not on the agenda.

@frozenux That's the point though, when you say PCs are the best, you must accept that they also represent the worst.

The average PC is running a decade old O/S with onboard graphics and sound. That is, atrocious.

The average power of current PCs is far below the average power of current consoles.

The best PC might be more powerful than the best console, but if you take credit for that machine, you must take credit for the slow ones too.

I think it is because gaming is like sport. Competitiveness draws out aggression, and losing draws out frustration.
