@cards: What political agenda did the first six films push, then? And don't make the embarrassing mistake of taking the content of the story as being the agenda.

Well there you have it, he had a political agenda (whether you agree with it or not) that piggy backed on an historically apolitical film series. He used a captive audience to promote a political agenda.
