As a game it's usually good, as a brand it is mixed.

YES. PLEASE.
Short imo: Ease of use.
PC's are plug an play
go to any school see how everyone is using them
I mean damn Mac's and PC's have been pretty much just plug it in since the 80's theres like one cord for the power supply and one cord for the monitor and one for network cable thats 3 things its basic plug and play.
witht he consoles you have to login with names pay for online and if SONY OR XBOX say you are offline YOU GO OFFLINE with the PC your ISP is the only one who can tell you to go offline
so no dude ease of use is a fail on the consoles side of things people know computers better than consoles their in schools everywhere.
Not in the N64/PS1 era they weren't.
GTA 0 - Kindergarten Stories.
Yes you're correct - PC players have no concept of having a first-party. Rather, they surrender control of their pseudo-platform to opportunistic, un-regulated clients.
They're all driving kit cars and having them serviced at unauthroised dealers.
ironic, being that consoles are restricted to running nothing but proprietary software. You're literally at the mercy of the manufacturer to allow you to have certain features.
To complete your shitty analogy you must also describe how having a console is like having an average tier car that only an authorized dealer can even unlatch the hood or pop the trunk. Also, any parts, accessories, and fuel products must be certified by the dealer. It's the best situation for someone who's mechanically inept.
It's not ironic - it's apt.
You're not at the mercy of the manufacturer, they're at your service. This is something Valve cannot and will not ever give you. PC has not first-party, no continuity of the R&D.
It has mixed hardware controlled by a corp. who didn't manufacture the hardware and (some) drivers, then you launch another client (third-party) to launch software that the client does not specifically support, and then you plug hardware into this that is self-selected and unknown to the developer. And you call this superior...
No company cares about your PC, and any game you play on it is an experience no other user is getting. So it's a pseudo-platform in every way.
we didn't need those consoles PC is where it was at during that time
You're right, PCs are required for far too many other non-gaming activities whereas consoles are purely about games.

I like VI because it's just detailed enough to make me use my imagination and not so un-detailed that it isn't too primitive.
I think the Metal Gear Series is about military technology on a background of political intrigue. That's why he mentioned mechs and not plot.
@davillain-: That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say Mario 64 is over-rated.
