Oh, I see. Maybe I'll try to ask a friend if he can install XP on my computer...

How much do you think I can overclock the Q6600 with this setup? I'm hoping to reach 3ghz.

Hey, I'm going to be building my first gaming rig! Please go over all the parts to see if I need to change anything. Hopefully, I will be able to play Crysis, Call of Duty4, and many other games well...

Cooler Master RC-690 already bought in store!

Intel Core 2 Q6600 already bought in store!

EVGA GeForce 8800GT already bought in store!

Samsung 20X DVD Burner SATA

Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR-2 800

Acer AL2216 22" Widescreen LCD

Gigabyte P35-DS3L

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 Watts

Logitech X-530

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB Sata

Windows Vista 64-Bit Home Premium

Everglide DKTBoard

I will be ordering the parts next week. Is there anything I am missing? Is this the most "bang out of my buck" computer I can get? Please criticize me for my mistakes and make suggestions to improve upon my rig.

Hey, I am going to be building my first gaming rig in a couple of weeks and I need some help getting a processor. I will be buying a Freezer 7 Pro, along with a DS3L mobo or a Lanparty Dk mobo (if they come back in stock). As of right now, Newegg doesn't have in stock the E8400. So should I get the Q6600 now, or wait for the E8400 to come back in stock?

P.S. I want to buy most of my parts on Newegg. But I checked other major e-tailers and they didn't have the E8400 available in stock, unless someone can lead me to one.

I think something is wrong with your motherboard's bios. Try updating the bios and see if that helps.

Nah, the processor he has right now is good, especially if he overclocks it.

I say get the HD3870, because $50 isn't worth 5-10fps. Also HD3870 are using beta drivers and will get better once new drivers are out (correct me if I am wrong).
