I just tested it! Try blocking one nostril and it doesn't quite feel right (but a small amount of air gets through, the 10% obviously :P) and blocking the other one feels fine! Does anyone have a reason for this?

That's probably the worst idea for heating a house I've ever heard of.
Actually, it's a pretty good way to heat the house. The entire house. In a blaze of gas-fueled glory.

Why does everyone thinks emos slit their wrists? None of them do, otherwise they would all be dead wouldn't they? And if they do they aren't emo, they are depressed and need help.
