[QUOTE="mitu123"]

Didn't you read the review, they said The Lost and Damned wasn't as good as the other game, that can easily bring the score down with 2 games in it.

im sorry for the double post but i feel that this needs to be aside from my previous one. Right now there are many of you who are clearly not reading the entire thread and are simply posting what has been stated multiple times already. yes, i understand that you disagree with my views, so share yours instead with a detailed breakdown of what you why you believe what you do. take the time and try to have an intelligent discussion by posting something worthwhile. Im not interesting in most of the ignorant garbage that has been posted here. dweedleking5000, if you had read the entire thread than you would have a better understanding of where im coming from. take your ignorant bs somewhere else buddy.

^ your insight lacks objectivity and a proper understanding of gamers preference and past gaming trends (and economics in general)

Of the games you mentioned there were 2 racers, 1 platformer, a FPS and an action adventure game. Are you saying that consoles dont have those anymore? Or are you just not looking hard enough because it seems you have already made up your mind before actually considering what you have said.

And if you want your definition of fresh, check XBLA

would you mind explaining why my logic is flawed? all you really say as a rebuttal is that the current gen systems have similar games types of games that i described on the n64. Now i wont argue that. there is ratchet and clank that is popular and other genres besides fps that make sales, however you cannot deny that the shooter types are dominant . you said that " have already made up my mind before...considering what said" im sorry but this doesnt make sense. basically what you wrote literally means that 'i made up my mind before i made up my mind'... im sure thats not what you intended to say, please clarify. also, how many of you all actually owned a nintendo 64 and played the games as they came out?

Unfortunately for the gaming industry, it is becoming ridiculously expensive to develop these games. This means many things, however the most important fact to keep in mind is that because games cost so much to create, developers are going to be VERY hesitant when it comes to approving games that they will make. Before, developers were more willing to try new things because money was not an issue that was constantly breathing down their necks. Today, they simply cannot afford to do so. Putting money into a game that may not see good results? thats not an option. and hell, the numbers clearly show what people buy. games like okami and shadow of the colossus just dont sell no matter how great they are. these games are going to become things of the past. The developers know exactly what will sell, and for the most part thats the average first person shooter. Therefore in the near future, and almost certainly by the time the next generation of consoles is out, the market will consist of nothing but call of duties and halos. For those of you that are old enough, think back to the days of the N64. there was such a HUGE variety of wonderful games; Banjo Kazooie, Mario 64, goldeneye, diddy kong racing, zelda ocarina of time....now when i look at my current gen games the ones that are "critically acclaimed" all have something in common. they all have to do with guns. think about it. Uncharted, bioshock, halo, resident evil, killzone, resistance, modern warfare...they are all shooting games. NO VARIETY AT ALL. Im not saying that shooters are the only games that make up the systems, but they are without a doubt the most predominant. What does this mean? after this close examination its clear that the industry is simply not for little kids. Some of you may have wondered where such revolutionary franchises such as mario and zelda will be 50 years from now. I can tell you that they will simply not exist. Gaming is going in the wrong direction, and there is no way to fix it. In the end, the developers call the shots, and they are gonna shoot for the big bucks. However i do predict a savior for the gaming industry. The computer. YES that is right. while the consoles become boring and generic, the PC will bring videogaming up from the ashes. Already, there is a large community that mod games for fun. what do you get when you have individuals that love to create games and are not driven by profit? you get originality. say your prayers mother **** because until this phenomenon i have outlined begins to take place, the gaming industry is going to suck. time to break out the N64 edit:im sorry i tried my best to break it up into paragraphs but the forum is not posting it the way that i did so

buying another copy was a mistake. from experience, whenever there are no visible faults with a disk, then something else is at fault

i understand where many of you are coming from, and indeed my assumptions of the demographics was based off of info that do not accurately represent. However taking a look at a few big name titles such as halo and gears of war, is the violence of the game a reflection the overall theme that these games have? Having the world invaded by aliens is widely known to be the go-to story for many violent games, however it is very simple and would lend itself better to a game intended for children. Halo, however, is not made for children based only on the fact that the game is violent. Is this really what you mature gamers out there want? Honestly, the story to mario galaxy has more substance to it than these "world being run over by alien" games that have been popping up. The story of rosalina and her struggle was very deep because it questions it deals with mature themes such as the loss of loved ones, and indirectly, death itself. yes i know halo has death in it, but it seems to be for more of a badass effect. honestly, did you sit down and contemplete life when johnson (i think thats his name) got blitzed by that guilty spark? I guess my problem is with the rating system. It seems to only judge games based on appearance, and not the actual content. Only with a precise combonation of these to factors will games be accurately represented by a rating.

i cant wait for this game, but they should make the xbox version rated T and the ps3 one m. that way more people would be able to enjoy it.
