After the help of a very nice staff member, all but 5 of my pending subs were looked at and accepted. 4 are still pending and one, for my own guide, was turned down...lol !!! Peace to all, sd

Hey there!

I have no idea why I'm here. My last video game system was the Intellivision. But it looks like a fun place to be.

Peace to all!

Well, I figured I'd still do the stats thing, even though the blue box is history. I'm sure someone will come up with another idea. So for now, how about a flashing blue line! sd

Two New Shows ! ... Blue Boxie Gone !!!

Well, finally. Thanks to the staff my submissions for two of my shows were approved. So I'm now editor for two of my favorite shows of olden days: Highway Patrol and The Lloyd Thaxton Show. I look forward to working on these guides, though air dates and specifics are sketchy! Alas, our blue box is history. No more quote feature. But if we are still allowed to use HTML in our blogs, couldn't someone out there just create an HTML blue box for our stats? Thankfully, the caching problem of last night seems to have been fixed. My blog entries are back and I see my friends' blogs listed. Peace to everyone, sd

Well, I thought I'd give this stat's box thing a try, not that I have much to brag about. But I have gone from Level 4, which I was when I came over from TvTome in June, to Level 12 in less than 3 weeks and not really trying. Not bad, I guess. sd

Always Wanted To Be One....

Well I've jumped up to the Red Shirted Lt. level. Man, I always wanted to be one of those red shirted guys who you just knew was going to die by some alien cloud or flying thing or whatever. You knew it because you had never seen the guy before on the show (Star Trek TOS) AND, he had a RED SHIRT ON!!! So whoopee...I'm a red shirt! Look out for the alien cloud.... * * * Star Trek TOS Trivia: Captain Kirk never said in any TOS episode, these words: "Beam me up Scotty", True or False? (loud buzzer sounds) Answer: True. William Shatner's character Captain James T. Kirk never spoke the words "Beam me up, Scotty". He DID say the words "Scotty...beam us up" which is close but no cigar. sd :-)

Up, Up & Away / Awful Bland Looking Around Here!

Well, I've gone from Level 4 to Level 9 in 11 days. I'm learning the ropes but it looks like most shows have an editor and those shows are filled out. I've submitted to shows with no editors but those submissions are still pending..ie..no one has looked at them and no one cares. Oh well.... It will be interesting to see how the site handles remote hosting of images that we use here. Will they go to hosting those images here? Or will they just eliminate those photos altogether? Stay tuned.... Did further work on an infomercial today. If you see one of those 30 minute commercials that run at 3am for the Mustang Mixer, well, it looks pretty slick! Tomorrow I run away with the circus....again. I've done a lot of work with Ringling Brothers circuses over the years and tomorrow we start work on their annual DVD of this year's show. It's always fun for us children of all ages. That's it for now. I'll be busy for the next few days so won't be able to do much until next week. Until then, Peace.... sounddude

The Beginning Of A New Year

Another year has gone and in it, a lot of time spent doing various important things: 1) Trying to calm down the family drama, 2) Trying to make enough money so as to not increase the family drama, and 3) Watching a lot of television drama. The last helps take the edge off of the other two and this year I was able to watch more than in past years. Actually, there were some pretty good shows out there. My favorites in no particular order were: 24, Alias, The Amazing Race, DOG The Bounty Hunter, The Biggest Loser, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Surface My Name Is Earl. Sure there are others but those come to my tired mind. Let's hope this unusual trend of quality and creativity continue into 2006 (I'm not holding my breath)! Why tired? No, it's not from staying up all night with the shell of Dick Clark mumbling from Times Square. I actually worked on January 1st, walking the field of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, with a time code DAT recorder strapped to my body, for NFL Films. I guess they don't have winter in Florida. It was 80 degrees (F) and humid. Beats working out in the snow and cold so I'm not complaining, just tired. And that means it's time for sleep. Peace.... sounddude

TV.com

Well, it's one of those examples. It ain't broke so let's fix it anyway. TV Tome was this perfect little hole in the internet wall where volunteer editors could edit sections of the project. I do that all over the net, i.e., MusicMoz, Open Directory, Open Encyclopedia, Chef Moz, etc. It let's "experts" in areas, be the editor of those areas. TV.com came in and changed everything and at first, me and a large number of the editors here objected to the way they did it, like a steam roller with little notice. But they have improved the appearance of the site and even though the learning curve for editors is high (little or no instruction on how to do anything), I must admit it's an improvement. We can only hope it will continue to improve! Editors, hang in there..... * * * * * I'm adding this to my blog for my own reference. Thanks to EKlumppJR for putting the info together for us! _ _ _ _ _ Episode Title = 8 pts/page submitted* Summary = 8 pts/page submitted* Recap = 8 pts/page submitted* Airdate = 8 pts/page submitted* Production Codes = 8 pts/page submitted* * = all these are on a single page Show Summary = 5 pts/page submitted (now verified) - has more info than just summary (If there's an editor, only they editor can make these submissions).
