The problem lies with Martin's inability to finish this saga himself. HBO had a 4 book cushion when they started filming GOT season 1 and HBO quickly caught up to the Author's latest book 5. So unless HBO wanted to wait another 10-15 years for Martin to release his last 2 books, they were forced to guess how they think the saga should end. It's become a mess for that reason. HBO had to go off the rails because Martin can't build the rails fast enough. HBO would have been wiser to hold off on GOT season 1 until Martin had released book 6....and maybe by the end of 7 years of production...he'd be nearly finished with his final book or had enough written to end the show properly.
I sill love the show and it's very entertaining for me. I had to suspend reality A LOT for this last episode and just accept the major holes because I've loved this series for so long. It's just a shame that HBO seems to be rushing through the last 2 seasons...like they just want to be done with it no matter how illogical and silly it becomes. It's sad...they've slowly built up to this moment for 6 seasons only to put everything on turbo....with a 7 episode season 7 and a season 8 that will be even shorter. Just crazy to me. What's the rush? it's by far one of the most popular shows in the world and they're speeding through the finish line without a thought to have anything make sense.
@jayskoon93: Well dude, I think you just answered your own question. You have a PS4 and a 360....not an XB1 and a 360. SO yes, you have no choice but to keep your 360 connected if you still want to play your 360 games.
If you had an XB1 and could get all of your 360 games to play on your XB1 with no need to change your video source, no need to sign into another device...no need to switch controllers or switch consoles. Or let's say you have some buddies who are playing something with you on the XB1 and you all decide, you want to play Gears 3 co-op story mode on the 360... You don't have to switch to your 360, sign in on that, grab a different controller, a different headset, switch video sources, start a new live party on the 360...when you could have done all of that instantly by having that same game play perfectly on your XB1. You keep the same controller in your hands, you stay in the same party, you have the same headset...you're off and running in seconds vs. minutes.
That's just one example of how it works. I did this just the other day with my buddy on Red Dead Redemption. With both have digital copies..we were playing the BF1 beta and we decided to jump on RDR multiplayer. We had to change nothing other than fire up RDR.
I still have my 360 connected and the more BC titles they release, the less reasons I have to boot it up. and all of those free Games With Gold for the 360 each month are BC on release...so my library grows digitally each month and I never need to boot my 360 and install and play these free games on my 360's limited HD. That's epic to me. Same controller, same headset, same console, same video source.
I see your point. Right now you can play all 360 games on the 360, so if you still have your 360, keep it plugged in and play all of your games. People still do that. But if people have the option to not do that, I think that's why it's important.
@consolehaven: I'm actually in all 3 categories. I don't play it, I play BF and I played the crap out of it and after the first black ops, I was done.
I won't say they are bad games...I just got bored with it and even BF is starting to lose me. I'm tired of the yearly installments with these franchises. Instead of wowing us every 2-3 years with something ground breaking, they give us more of the same with a few bells and whistles. I liken these franchises to the "Madden" of shooters.
@off3nc3: I know, it's hilarious, right? I mean here you have PC guy telling other people how to enjoy their games, getting all butthurt that gamepad nubs don't agree with them, when instead, they could be actually be playing games on that overpriced gaming rig that they built, but instead would rather browse the comments sections and whine that people aren't playing games their way...but hey at least they get to worry about what the gamepad nubs are doing in a blistering 4k, 120fps.
@Celtic_34: So we've now summed it all up in 3 basic points. It's a shooter. It's pretty good. There's a lot of marketing behind it.
But is the marketing really worth pointing out? I mean, It's a massive publisher. Blizzard, EA, Ubisoft, Bungie, Activision, Bethesda, Rock Star, etc... that's just what they do. They put a lot of marketing behind any major release. This is far from anything new. Gaming rivals anything else in the entertainment industry including movies when it comes to marketing budgets for a major release. We should all be numb to this by now.
@Celtic_34: So it's pretty good? Or it's all hype? I'm confused. Did you play it? I can't figure out if you just have a strong opinion of the game because it was hyped and this reviewer really likes it, or if you actually played the game and determined it was overrated and not as complex as the reviewer claims it to be, because if you haven't played it then calling it "fluff & hype" is just an assumption.
