Are you being funny or are you stupid. They hate the US, they hate Israel. They hate anyone bascially who wants freedom. There are standards when it comes to having nukes, and first thing is it cant be a country run by an evil dictator, who has stated on many occasions that he wants to destroy another country.
They hate the U.S. mainly because of the 1953 coup. Not because they hate freedom, America isn't free.So the states aren't sovereign. It's a good idea to know what the word means.
sovereign- autonomous: (of political bodies) not controlled by outside forces; "an autonomous judiciary"; "a sovereign state"
the fedral government is an outside force.
[QUOTE="sped_ed"][QUOTE="Tolwan"]The states aren't really sovereign any more though. Look at California, they legalized pot for medical purposes but the DEA is still down there busting the people growing it.I think the US, for the most part, has it right. We have 50 states, each is sovereign. All must follow federal law, but beyond that each state can make its own laws. And with the electoral system for presidential elections, this also gives the minority some power. State may be small, but with races as tight as 2004 was, the minority can make a huge difference.
And if you dont like one state, you can go to another with an entirely different set of laws.

The law legalizes getting it, not creating it. The way the bill was set up has caused a debate between the state and feds as to wether it conflicts with federal law or not.
If fedral law overides the state's laws then the state isn't really sovereign. The states aren't really sovereign any more though.
