it's inevitable that the industry will shift to digital distribution. it's already happened with music.shoeman12

How is it inevitable, music files a MUCH MUCH MUCH smaller than a game file, full games are multiple GB, and with music its convient for DD because you listen to it while your going about everyday life

You have to understand the industry and why they make that move before you go and say it "it happened with one industry it is GOING TO happen to another"

For the people who prefer DD I see them saying there will come a day...when DD is on PAR with a physical copy, I mean why would you want to have a download when you can get everything your looking into the future for NOW with a disk

I just prefer knowing I bought something and being able to actually POINT to it

...An announcement so big, when your hear/see/read it, your eyes melt out of their sockets.

The game industry is turned on its head

What this thread is about is what you think will fit the announcement of this caliber, it doesnt have to make sense, and can be extremely unlikely.

I'll start

Halo 4 only on PS3, or an announment of an extremely big game for the first time, they announce the release date as TOMMOROW!

Why? You have nothing to show for your purchase, what if something happens to your HD?

So your saying you don't prefer having something in your hand that you can actually say is yours as opposed to a bunch of 1s and 0s representing what your paid your hard earned money for.

You do realize that with DD only one source controls the price of the content, no special deals, you cant trade with your friends etc...

Yea October 15 was a better date but they never confirmed October 15 as the release date, it was just a placeholder, they said "Fall" not October 15
