These are the games that I am looking forward to seeing at E3 2011. Some of them may be different than what you guys are anticipating, but to each his/her own. Some of these games might not appear at the show, but based on their release schedules, they have a good chance of being there in one form or another.
#10: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3)
This game might be a little low for what was at the beginnign of the year my most anticipated game of 2011, but I guess my interest waned a little bit. Maybe it was other announcements and news. Regardless, I cannot wait to see what Naughty Dog has got planned for the third installment of the series that made them and Sony millions. I also can't wait to see what beautiful environments lie in wait for Nathan Drake.
#9: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (XBox360/PS3/PC)
Very little has been shown about the next Elder Scrolls game other than a clutter of screenshots and an awesome in-game trailer. But Bethesda is making some lofty promises to ensure that the feel is better, the world more beautiful and "bug-free" and that conversations are less robotic than they have in Oblivion and the recent Fallout games. It'll be interesting to see what sights, choices and consequences await. I also hope that we can finally see a fight with a dragon.
#8: Mass Effect 3 (XBox360/PS3/PC)
I felt both excited and disappointed that Mass Effect 3 was delayed from this holiday to early next. Excited because the final product would be bettter and other RPGs would have a chance to win an award and disappointed because I wouldn't be able to play it until then and now Tales of Graces F is in the same boat. But that doesn't make me any less excited for the final chapter of this space-faring epic. After the incredible Mass Effect 2, I'm a little worried that BioWare can go above that level of quality.
#7: SoulCalibur V (XBox360/PS3)
With no information regarding its supposedly revamped combat and visuals, SoulCalibur V defintiely has an aura of mystery surrounding it. Set 17 years after part 4, the stars of the show will the children of Sophitia. I expect the visuals and combat to be shown, but I'm also a bit concerned about how certain characters (translation: Taki and Ivy) will look after the time shift. Namco Bandai promises to unveil this at E3 this year.
#6: Tales of Graces F (PS3)
I bet you are all wondering why this game is on this list since it's already out in Japan. "Why don'y you just import the game?" "Why don't you just watch subbed videos on YouTube because English voices suck?" First of all,the amount I know of Japanese could fit into a thimbel and I don't want to spoil the story for myself. Even if Tales of Graces' E3 appearance is purely an English localization, I want to see how it looks, sounds and plays on our shores. But I do already know that critics aren't going to give it its proper credit at the end of next year. Curse you, Mass Effect 3 and Final Fantasy XIII-2!
#5: Ninja Gaiden III (N/A)
This choice was a no-brainer considering how little is known about the story, "revamped" combat and just about everything. That and how at the end of the first trailer said "E3 2011". There's no doubt it will be a great product, especially after Team Ninja proved they could thrive and survive without Itagaki with both Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Dead or Alive Dimensions. I also want to know how the new combat will work and what is happening to Ryu. E3 is promising to fill in the blanks.
#4: Assassin's Creed: Revelations (XBox360/PS3/PC)
Ezio's quest isn't over yet. After the work with Brotherhood, Ubisoft wanted to make a sequel that actually felt like one without being Assassin's Creed III, but feeling like it would lead up to it. From what I read from GameInformer, new gameplay mechanics, tweaked multiplayer and an even larger world to explore in Constantinople all raise the excitement levels of me and evryone I know. Plus, we might get a chance to play as Altair once again. Revelations is showing a ton of ambition, especially since it hasn't even been a year since Brotherhood yet, but what I heard so far is bound to get just about anyone excited.
#3: Sonic Generations (XBox360/PS3/3DS)
Although Sega has been listening to player feedback after Sonic 15th anniversary went awry, fans may be finally getting what they wanted for Sonic's 20th. Promising to allow players to choose betweenold and modern Sonic with their own gameplay mechanics and blaze throughiconic stages, this may be the true return to form we've all been hankering for these last few years. E3 is sure to unveil a new stage or two as well as more of the story. It looks like Sonicand his fans aregoing to have the birthday to remember.
#2: Dark Souls (XBox360/PS3)
When you're the follow-up to Game of the Year 2009, you're bound to get high levels of expectations and Dark Souls is going to have to live up to that. A seamless world that has more than 100 types of monsters and difficulty that is more punishing than Demon's Souls is sure to get hardcore masochists more excited than giddy schoolgirls. Despite the trailers, there is still little information on how the online functionality will work this time. E3 is the perfect place to show this off and it had better be on your radar. One thing I do know is that once this game comes out, I won't want to stop playing it.
#1: Final Fantasy XIII-2 (XBox360/PS3)
This game is at the top of my list because there is so little information to go by regarding its story and combat and since it is planning to be released by next winter, E3 is the time to show it off. How will the combat work this time around? What is this game about? Will we see Lightning in that sexy armor again? The only thing I know about the game is how much I want to see it again, making it the Most Anticiapted Game of E3 2011.
