Honestly, if I were you I would just keep the X800. You payed damn good money for it, remember? :P My last system was an AMD64 3500+ with an X850 Pro and I was in the same boat as you last year. I was in denial that AGP was truly dead and was looking for a good DX10 replacement for my X850. I couldn't find any AGP cards that cost more than $150. But I went ahead and bought an X1200 (or whatever) and figured since it had more memory and a better model number that it would be better, regardless of the price. Big mistake...! That card f*****g sucked! Upgrade to PCIe man, don't waste your money until then. :]
I have a Sonata III and yes, it'll fit. My GTX285 fits perfectly. Also you can throw a fan on the front HD cage if you just move your card down to a lower PCIe slot, which is what I did. Good luck. :]
