I was also born in 1990. So If I had to pick, I'd say 10 years earlier. The 80s sound like such a bad ass time! I really really loved the 90s, we were the first computer era, and we finally got to experience 3D gaming as well. But I could have gotten all taht, and the big gaming spark if I had been born in the 80s.

What exactly is Dolby Surround, in realtion to Dolby Pro Logic?

From what I've found Dolby Surround is how a source's sound is encoded, and a Dolby Pro Logic is the decoder that opens up the Stereo sound into 4 channel surround sound.

Another question I had was, will a Pro Logic II receiver, accept a Dolby Surround, or Pro Logic source and decode it correctly, and by that I mean will the rear speakers still run a correct mono track?

My dad has a Kenwood KR-V7040(the front of it is labelled with a Dolby Surround * Pro Logic * Time Link logo), that I'm interested in using, since he doesn't actually use any surround sound content, and he can't even get all 5 speakers to work, but maybe I could ;). I'm mainly wanting to see how Nintendo 64 games sound with it.

Any help at all greatly appreciated. I am still very new at the world of surround sound!

So a few years ago I purchased a Pelican System Switcher(The standard, not the Pro), and I have all different consoles, that I use different video outs for, Composite, S-video and Component. I know the quality of the cables that comply with the console are only capable of so much, but would buying higher quality cables for my System Switcher to the Tv possibly give me a better picture?

There isn't really a big problem with video, but I do occasionally notice flicker. Especially on my Playstation (S-video) and my PS2 (Component), and Xbox (Component).

Any help at all greatly appreciated.

When we tiled our kitchen about a decade ago, we had several tiles left over, my mom suggested using tiles for things that sit on the floor and cause heat.

I've used my N64, Sega Saturn, my PC's External Harddrive, our Wireless router, and currently I have an Xbox, and my 360's power brick placed on one each.

They are unsightly, unless tucked away.
