Without getting a chance to read your previous post, I found a circuitous route to the answer. During BiOS message I hit delete and looked at the system info and, lo and behold, one stick of ram wasn't showing up (said system memory 3008 MB). Popped out one of the two new sticks (with the old GPU in there) and windows ran fine

So everyone suspecting the RAM stick is at fault here?

Yes. Isn't the limit for XP 4 GB?

A hah! Of course it's something simple and mundane: Forgot to plug in two of the outlets. Yes that was stupid. But now, it keeps looping the BiOS message, and how do I get the comp to boot under the new config? It's that message Windows didn't start successfully. I'm still new to computers as you may tell

Thing is this is the only system I can work with...

I know right now that the 7950 GT will work if I put it back in, but is it simply a busted card or is there more to it?

That would really really really really REALLY suck

If I install the 8 series drivers then try and boot the system would that fix it? I'm going from a 7950 GT to the 8800 GTX

Well, I got my EVGA 8800 GTX today, slapped it in without too great an effort, and plugged in two new sticks of RAM to go with my existing two (all four are Corsair, identical model). So, I attempt to boot the computer up. Normal BiOS message comes up, and then when it should be showing the Windows XP icon and the loading bar, the screen goes brown and pink Ms fil the entire screen.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

I've never had a problem with my XFX card, if that helps at all.

PSU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103941

Intel E6600 dual core

4 x 1 GB Corsair RAM

250 GB HDD

Standard DVD Player/Burner

I have two 120 mm fans and a pair of 90 mm (this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133154) It's like a cave in that case so size shouldn't be an issue

All help will be much appreciated
