I think perspective is important. Since I don't know enough kanji to tell what this article is really saying (meaning are they questioning it? are they revealing it? is it a rumor?). I have not heard or seen anything involving a cover system and it wasn't in the demo. Having said that, Capcom has been mums about this game for a long time. More importantly, what's the point of a cover system if no one shoots at you?

The only service like this I can think of is Gamefly, which I am a part of. Basically you pay a monthly fee ($17 for 1 game or $23 for 2) that is associated with a credit card (you must provide one to sign up), which will be charged on the same day of the month each month (ie: you subscribe on the 15th, you will be charged on the 15th of every month). You set up the games you want into a queue, which has ranks (1, 2, 3, etc) and typically gamefly tries to give you your number 1 choice and will sometimes drop farther down your list for the second game based on popularity of the game. They mail you the game in a sleeve and when you're done with it the sleeve reseals and can be sent back for free. Once they receive a game from you, they send you the next game on your queue (again, depending on availability). If you have a lot of time but not a lot of money, this can be useful. It's also a good idea for people who are very specific about the game they want because you don't have to drop $60 every time a game looks good. It's also a way to play the newest games for only about $20/month.

Gamefly also has a reduced price to purchase games you've rented. For example, I currently have Afro Samurai and if I want to pay $45, they'll send me the box and instructions and let me keep the game. As games become less popular or older, they get cheaper (each game has its own price). If you buy a game, they immediately send you a new game in your queue because you are no longer "renting" that game. Most games from Gamefly have been in great shape, too.

[QUOTE="TheMagicThing"]if a games native res is 720p if i force it to 1080p will it look better?jshaas
No. What you're doing is basically blowing up the picture. Like if you took a 5x7 photo and blew it up to 16x20... it just stretches the picture out causing you to loose clarity, or detail. The game will look much more crisp and detailed in it's native resolution.

Agreed. jshaas, you're a breath of fresh air. So many people push the resolution because they want to justify their 1080p TVs and often times they don't look as good! If your system chooses to drop to 720p even though it knows you can display 1080p, probably should trust that.

Save data isn't all that large, so I'd use a 4GB USB thumb drive just because it requires no external formatting and partitioning (separation of a hard drive) and I'd be absolutely shocked if you had enough save data for 4 GB (I've got over 100 saves and it's only a few hundred megs). 4GB USB drives are $10-$20 at big box retailers. The issue is, you need to be able to boot up your PS3 in order to transfer the information because the formatting of the hard drive is very difficult and technical to extract (ie: if you're not super tech savvy then you're probably going to have to pay big bucks to get it extracted).

If you can boot up your PS3, just plug in the USB drive in a USB port, choose any of the saves you want to move over and press triangle on them. Choose Copy -> USB Drive, it'll copy over pretty quick. Also, best practices is to, weekly or monthly, copy over your save data so you never have to worry about it if your console breaks.

There's also a way to backup the hard drive, but this is a much larger file, includes your installs, and requires a partitioned USB hard drive to FAT32 (which is contrary to what XP and Vista use). Hope this helps!

Can't say I'm all that shocked, unfortunately. This game nearly snuck out without any coverage and that's always a bad sign.

Nope, no company that does it. I think a company temporarily did it during PS2/Xbox era, but I'm betting that M$ won't let that last too long. If a legit company started making modded controllers like that, I'm thinking they'd worry about lawsuits or misinformed parents and store owners putting PS3 controllers in 360 locations and visa versa. I know it sucks in the shooter realm, but after a little time, comes right back. Nowadays I don't even notice the difference.

First off, I have to start by saying I don't think it's worth much to compare a full game to a demo, but here's my take:

Avid RE fan since the first one (the reason I initially bought original Playstation) and I feel that the new herd of zombies and old school gameplay in RE 5 don't work well together. Additionally you're either babysitting a player or the computer (they both basically play the same if new to the series). Don't like co-op, think it was integrated crappy, and probably not going to be big on the game.

Dead Space sucked me in immediately, then it faltered off during levels 5-7, then came right back and ended with a killer mechanic. I like that I could shoot and backup, I appreciated being able to save when I want and skip it when I didn't, I also liked the fact that I was alone. This seems to be my biggest issue: not being alone.

Mark my words: Dead Space is probably the better game but Resident Evil 5 will definitely dominate the sales.

what is the goriest execution in the uncensored versiondigginitc

There was the testi-kill, which you can basically imagine what it was (and don't feel comfortable going into detail) as well as one on the head with a circular saw. Not worth hunting down, trust me, the game sucked.

Depends if you mean FPS or light gun shooters. If you mean light gun, choices are limited but...

-Time Crisis 2 & 3, Resident Evil: Dead Aim is okay, Vampire Knight, and get some PSX games like Lethal Enforcers 1 & 2, Area 51, and the original Time Crisis.

In the FPS genre, again, not a ton of choices but I enjoyed:

-Killzone is super short but decent for the era, Red Faction 1 & 2, Black, Half-Life, Dark Forces (from PSX), and Final Doom as a classic (PSX), and not sure if it was on it, but Return To Castle Wolfenstein was great if it was on PS2.

Hope These Help!

What about the resident evil games? In the early gens TG-16 had Splatterhouse and Genesis had that as well. Time Killers? Bloodstorm? (both arcades and Sega saw a rare genesis edition of Time Killers). In terms of the gross factor: Primal Rage. Bionic Commando had the head of Hitler exploding and it nabbed an M rating on the remake which is pretty darn close to the content of the original.

Goriest game ever? Still say Manhunt 2 (the uncensored version, which I've played)
