Lord of the Rings Online will be free this fall. Might want to look into that.Steak_And_Eggs
And just when my grade averages are increasing :( Hey, Guild wars is surprisingly still active, if you are interested in its PvP system. If you're into the whole competitive aspect of gaming, give it a shot. It's damn good fun. But don't expect anyone to join your party in the roleplaying part of the game, been long dead ever since heroes were introduced.

You'd be better off finding a deal online, they have to remain competitive with the rest of the global market.

Favorites: FPS and RPG, preferably a hybrid of the two'

Least favorite: TBS

I just can't get intoturn basedgames, even though some of my favorite games have partial turn based combat.

It's weird.

TBS goes far too slowly for most people. Ever played Civilization or Heroes of might and magic online/lan? We're talking hours of waiting for someone to make their stupid move. And afterwards (in the case of Heroes) he asks if he can revert to a savegame, because he did something stupid.

Ohhhhh noooooo 10 dollars?! What will I do without my 10 dollars! I think it's pretty freaking hilarious how stingy PC gamers are. 60 bucks for a great game and some of you won't get it because it's 10 dollars more expensive then usual? Give me a break, it's ridiculous. You can't even buy a pack of good smokes for 10 dollars.

You're kidding me, what, do you smoke Havana cigars regularly or something? It's our money, we want to get as much as we can with as little as we can.

Favourite: RPG/FPS games Least: Adventure games or Sports games. Can't see the attraction in either. Also, any guitar hero games, since I suck at them.

Uh, anyone remember the first time they were at Strelok's stash? That part got to me. Although if you walk right up to the poor thing (unpatched version) it can't do a damn thing, just stands there and gives you a headache. The bloodsuckers themselves aren't that bad, but probably after playing Call of Pripyat their novelty wore off. There was a section where you had to take out a nest of them. Ten bloodsuckers charging down a narrow hall, all of them camoflaged, with only the eyes clearly visible.

Then why not pick up one of the several games released this year for $50 and under? People on this board make it like you HAVE to buy Starcraft II now. Wait for a sale or price drop but supporting the price at $60 is supporting a bad standard.

Maybe they're more concerned with surviving online rather than the excessive price-tag. They need all the time they can get to survive against the Koreans and their damn 400-clicks-a-minute reflexes.

The poll is a little biased, wouldn't you say? Depending on the genre of the game we're talking about, we will place more importance in certain elements. An RPG definitely requires a solid story and single-player experience, while an FPS is more heavily focused on the gameplay experience, usually simplifying a complex plot down to something along the lines of: "You are marine. Cool dude. Kill koreans. Bad guys."

The way it is in Europe is basically, a game may come out brand-new on the PC for maybe 50 euros. If this game's multiplayer, then chances are you have to snatch it up fast so you can actually get a decent match/co-op online. If it's single-player or lacks any incentive to be played online? Just wait. In a couple of months you will see the game appear in bargain bins, or hugely discounted. Assassin's creed? I can grab it for 5 euros. Medieval II? 6 euros. Even Metro 2033 has dropped to 20 euros already.

Sorry, it's still a little unclear. Does the HP pavilion you bought still have its own graphics card? Maybe an older AGP 8x card besides the PCI-express card that doesn't fit? If that's case, I echo the advice of the above posts. Would be handy for playing older classic games, just keep XP as the operating system. If not, you'll have to find out which kinds of graphics-cards the motherboard can support. Just google up the model and see its specifications, and buy an appropriate older card.
