call me old school, but i use a regular floor fan, put it a few feet away from my 360 and play it for hours on end and like never even heats up.

myrtlebeach

me too...I use 12v fan , put it from right side of 360...Some people say the dust can be a problem...I dont think so....

these days I 'll put a small 12V fan, like you did, to see a difference(about temperature of air coming out),and let you know my impression with that:)...Until that, I wish you a good and cool console:lol:

also the power supply(brick) cord is pluged into a power surge thingy with other power supplys connected to it (high def tv..ect) is that bad or what r use saying lol sorry

italiano07

some peolple say that you need to separate power source for console and for rest of stuff( tv, etc )...and also is recommended to put your " brick " directly into the wall outlet...

buthe fan dude isnt putting the air in the 360..all its doing is pushing tghe hot air awy that cums out the back and pushing it away or better making it into cool air from th fan..it isnt facing the back of my consoe so no air is being forced in:s and this concept works i guess i dont feel any heat around the bak of the 360 when i do it so i guess its doing a good job:s except when ifeel the vents at the back they r a bit hot..buit thas normal cuz thats whert he hot air cus out:s lol

wher do use live? amerca?australia?:) and how old? im 15:)

italiano07

I am from Bosnia..25...about the fan...it is not a powerful fan , it's small 12v fan which produce small turbulence of air...I have friend, he has installed two 9v fans from the right side if 360, and he also told me that air isnt so hot like earlier...as italiano07 already said...

my console is a brand new, I am very happy with it,dont play so much(2-3hours everyday,)but after so many complaints from the world I am a little bit scared....I thinkthe only problem in this case with fans is the dust but as I said that is normal dust:D...

and one thing...that power source, "the Brick", are you keeping it in wall outlet all the time , I mean when you dont play , is still power on ?? or you are taking it from wall outlet ??

sorry for my english if you didnt understand me...I am still learning:D

everytime i play my 360 i turn on my big fan and is pointed at the console and is on full...and i play for 2hrs top a day (sumtymes not all at once) and everytime i finsh playingi t it turn the fan off and feel the back of it and its cool cant feel even a bit of heat..iv hadmy console since march 22nd (release date for AUS) and its ben fine since..just freezes every now and then, and what console doesnt freeze once in a while?..and iv been hearing many things about RRoD but i hope im a lucky one that doesnt expericne it. iv got a fiend whos still ogt his same xbox but hes on his 2nd time getting it repaired from it an the agent hes going 2 is putting a gpu fan in(a better one i think) anyway if its cool when i feel the back of it does that me im givin it better ventilation ..becase its not in much of a ventalated spot..but its still seems to stay cool...am i doing the right thing?

italiano07

i just wanted to ask the same question...If I put on small fan ( 12 V ) not big and point it from right side of console ( the side where 360 is taking fresh air, far from DVD drive) , will that be bad for 360 ??, I mean that is loggic, if you give her( console ) more fresh air, you will have more cool air true the console .... For me that is good way...I know there is problem with dust, but dust is everywhere, and that is not real dust, I mean, we dont live in country like Saudi Arabia ,and we dont have a real dust like they have...This is just a thought, what you think guys ?? And one thing, power source for the 12 volt fan should be separated from 360's source of energyof course...

Horizontal....with a lot space around it...

Plus, I put 4 rubber cubes ( 2cm x 2 cm approx) under 360, so it has more space under itself ( about 2 cm higher ) ....of course, 360 has stability on the cubes...

I think now it has more possibility to work without overheating...

We will see...I bought 360 one month ago...

I had PS2 for 4 years and nothing happened...I wish only half of that with my 360...
