By the way, thank you so much you guys!!!!! You've both been such a big help!!!! finally i can build a cheap gaming machine!
(I feel like a kid on christmas eve! :D)
IMHO a BD player is a waste of money. Games don't come on BD... and I don't suspect they'll start to anytime soon. Things have been moving digital anyways. If you reeally want to watch BD films on your PC... well go for then, I guess. The last time I stuck a DVD movie in my PC was over 10 years ago, lol... X-Men, the first DVD we had in the house.jedinat
i already have a ps3 with an HD tv so i dont know what I was thinking when i chose the blu ray player :)
So would you recommend I ditch the 570 for the 560ti, and with the extra money get the blu ray player? or just keep it like it is?
will the 560ti differ much from the 570?
sorry that im asking so many questions:)
Thank you guys so much for the suggestion!!! I really appreciate them!! :D
I updated my list ( a bit more expensive)
Is this better or worse than what I last posted?

Again thanks for the suggestions guys, as you can see alot of those went to good use :)
Does everything seem compatible with each other?
and do you guys think the new GTX 570 can fit in the new case? or should i switch back?
----- Sorry it took me so long to give a response ------
alright, I want a decent gaming computer (NOT high end latest gadgets that will play games at max settings in 2025) and i dont feel like buying a 3000 dollar alienware one. I'm not the best with tech stuff and I've never built my own computer before, so ive looked at a few guides and so far this is what i've come up with.

please guys go easy on me if i sound naive. I'm completely new to this
is this all the components necessary for building a comp? (excluding monitor, mouse, keyboard, modem, etc.)
if somebody has a better suggestion for one of the components that might have a similar price, please let me know!
do you guys think this combo might be able to run BF3 on high setting??
if not, please give me some recommendations for cards!
thanks for the reply
steam did update it automatically, I know before i stopped using my laptop, i was playing on a pre 1.3 patch
and no, ive done nothing with the drivers, ill try it now though
not sure if this is the rightplace to post this, so i apologize if it is.
empire total war worked before, i havent played mylaptop in a while, but it used to work fine, I installed patch 1.3 and it wont start up past the screen which says EMPIRE TOTAL WAR,and shows all the credits etc., but it freezes, leaving me unable to do anything, ctrl+alt+delete doesnt work, nor alt+f4. ive uninstalled it 3 times, and when i do, i delete every trace of ETW from the steam folder, ive uninstalled my anti-virus system in hope that it would work, it didnt. im running off windows 7, if that changes anything. anybody got any ideas?
thanks
