I made use of this service already: I bought Rogue Galaxy (and FF7, but that's a "remaster"). I have the physical copy as well, but I wanted it in 1080p, 60FPS, and with trophies.
It's 1080p. It's got trophies. It's certainly not 60 FPS. Not sure why they advertised 60 FPS when the game is still 30, but there it is.
For a game like RG, $15 is a good price. I bought it new for $50 years and years ago, but that's the type of game that doesn't go down in price much. Used, on Amazon, it's at least $20.
For something like Dark Cloud, GTA3, Vice City, or Twisted Metal Black? Sony is overcharging...big time. Dark Cloud can be had on Amazon for $11. GTA3? $6 brand new. Some people are selling it for less than a dollar. Less than a dollar. Vice City? $8 brand new, $4 used. TM Black? $10 shrink-wrapped, 57 cents used.
In fact, I'd say that Rogue Galaxy is the only game currently that's worth what Sony is charging. For the others? You're paying for: >a bump in resolution >trophies >convenience
Of the two games I bought, neither are the promised 60 FPS. Which is the biggest thing I wanted...but oh well.
