@adamh1981: Think about what you are saying for a second. If there was no XBOX - PSN would be a steaming pile if it even existed at all. PS4 would have released with a $600 price point.
PS1 was a great console no question I loved it. but it wasn't an island. It It was an entry from a hardware company that makes some solid products. You don't think that they were looking at SEGA and Nintendo in terms of what to do and what not to do?
PS2 was also a great console... but XBOX came along and suddenly provided a great online experience far superior to anything else available on a console. You don't think Sony was taking notes?
No competition means you get stagnant. It's absolutely true in any business.
@Gaming-Planet: You better hope not... because that will mean the PS5 is going to suck. No competition in the market makes for horrible products and service.
@timmerous: For me ONE has had way more exclusives that interested me since launch. I think this will change in 2016 though. Other than Quantum Break I'm way more excited with Sony's lineup so far.
As far as exclusives not moving consoles... that isn't true. There would be no XBOX without Halo. I also probably would have never picked up a PS with out Tony Hawk or a PS2 without GTA3. The only reason I picked up a ONE at launch was Forza5 and Dead Rising3. Exclusives do move consoles... It certainly isn't the only reason but it is important.
@sladey: I honestly would love to see the next Nintendo console kick butt again. Good things happen when all three companies are firing on all cylinders.
Sales figures are good... but you need games to back it up. For me 2016 looks to be very promising for PS4 but up until now the exclusives have been lacking. ...here come the Bloodborne comments...
@davillain-: I stand corrected. I forgot they released it on 360 as well. Still, "Well over a million" is impressive. Even if that is shared between current and last gen platforms.
I agree. According to Gamespot the PS4 Exclusives in 2015 were better than the competition. I disagree. There were a few great games but they were few. 2016 though looks amazing.
