well if u got problems spending your money then I'll gladly take donations hehe...no but seriously if u can afford it and dont wanna miss out on any games then go for it, but that rig will be mid range in time for next summer. pc gaming is expensive.

well if dx10 dont get your pants wet, then there is actually no reason to dump your current consoles(360 and ps3 i guess)

lots of great games are coming to the 360 and ps3.

personally I'm upgrading for dx10

gaming rigs needs to be upgraded at least once a year to keep up with the newest games. that is if u need highest settings on every game(like me hehe)

Im using a saitek pro gamer command unit( small keyboard with a analog stick and 21 buttons) and a logitech mx518. works great.

I'm getting a q6600 cpu, 4 gigs of 800mhz ram, 600w powersupply, a descent oc sli mainboard and a 8800gts 640mb.

I got three questions:

1. how long will the cpu last u think?

2. 8800gts 640mb in sli or the new 9800gts when it hit shelves?(yes I know I need a more powerfull powersupply for sli)

3. how far will I be able to oc the q6600? Im getting a good oc mainboard, oc ram(800mhz,ddr2) and watercooling system

My conclusion....may get either X2 3800+ or X2 4200+....4200 if i have the $8adk1d_16yo


good choise. maybe you can try to oc that one and get some extra performance
