I wish he went further into detail about games being art, seeing as he is one of main points and contributors to the medium as an art than any other dev/director
I agree with what he is saying, to an extent, however, I believe that the ultraviolence is simply a fad that has grown with this generation now that gaming has now become a more serious toned and mature medium. With that said, I don't see this gen's violence lasting very long and people would get very nostalgic for the wholesome, colourful gameplay. You already see it in the New SMB games for the wii and DS and in Rayman Origins; these games were critically acclaimed and it's a step forward as I think gaming is just wallowing in the respect it's been given as a medium recently.
Watch, it will all come back to the games that can be both enjoyed by adults and children alike, and I'm not talking about Wii's casual shovelware.
I agree with the article. Just because people b!tch and complain about stuff, doesn't mean they should get it. Like children - grown children who can't appreciate a piece of work that didn't necessarily need praise in the first place - but children nonetheless.
Nah... I'd love the guy to be Tommy Vercetti, but it probably isn't. Doesn't particularly talk like him either, but maybe that's because I haven't played Vice City in a long time. Game looks absolutely gorgeous though
