In my experience LCD have been better. The fast action just doesn't look as good on my friend's plasma compared to my LCD. Of course not all LCD's and plasmas are made alike.

Alright, Just downloaded the Linux client and it's running like a charm. I just hope it doesn't overheat my laptop. Edit: Well so far the temp of my laptop hasn't really been affected. Even though my CPU is running at 100% the clock is scaled down to 1.6 GHz. I guess Linux doesn't scale up the CPU to run low priority processes.

93. Chrome 440GTX 256MB

It's nice to see a none ATI or Nvidia card in the top 100. I wonder where there new 540 GTX would rank. It looks like it's built with a much different mindset than the other top cards. http://www.s3graphics.com/en/products/class3.aspx?productId=19

Sounds like windows 7 is having troubles using your hard drive. Since it does recognize it at least in some way it's probably not a driver issue. I would try a windows vista or windows xp installation disk just to see if it can at least get started. If you can install vista or xp it's obviously an issue with windows 7 RC or the media it's burned on . If you suspect the hard drive is bad there is many different diagnostics programs you can burn on CD or copy to flash drive. There's the wd diagnostics if you have a wd drive at: http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=605&sid=30&lang=en I prefer to use mhdd which is a very low level program that can do some extensive scans. You can find it included in the system rescue cd at: http://www.sysresccd.org

Yea, I'd agree get a different socket type the LGA 775 won't give you any upgrade options. Also you'll have a hard time plugging that 1.44 mb floppy into your motherboard because it doesn't have a floppy connector. (Why do you even need it?) Why are you even buying an extra 1GBit network card? You already have two on that motherboard and I doubt that the linksys will give you much of a speed increase. There are some network card that do give a significant speed increase but cost much more. You can save money if you purchased a case that does not include a power supply. As it is you're paying for a 400W PSU that you're not even going to use.

As a general rule any laptop that has something other than an Intel graphics card could run those games pretty easily. As long as it has a Nvidia or ATI card a new computer shouldn't have a problem of running those games.
