It's not a new stance, and it won't really bring anything new to the table. As for the call for negotiations, they've been going off and on for years. Though the speech did sound like he was siding with the Palestinians and would just bring more stalling.

The only thing that would make me get revenge is that I know if he got the death penalty I would be on social security and he would still be on death row. If I got revenge I'd pay for it and nothing good would come from it. I'd just report it.

Because it's not his achievement. He's been out of office for 2 years and 4 months and was not the one who authorized the operation.
