1. What system has the exclusives you like the most? Do you want Uncharted and Killzone and Infamousand LBP ect...then PS3 is the more attractive choice. Do you want Halo and Fable and Gears of War and Forza ect...then the 360 is the more atttractive choice. Exclusives are IMO the most important choice in trying to figure out what system to get, you can't get these games on the other system so make sure you think wisely about what games you like the most.

2. Do you want an online service with FREE online play, or do you want one that has a couple extra features and is a little more integrated but don't mind the price ($60 a year)? If you want the first option (FREE) then PS3 is the better system for you, if you prefer the second option then 360 is the better choice for you. Also what online service your friends use also comes into play here aswell, but your own personal prefrence should come first.

3. Do you want Blu Ray? If you want the best in HD Movies and sound, then the PS3 is the better choice.

4. What system brand are you more familar with? If you owned a PS2 and a PS1 before then you would probably like the PS3 more, if you owned an Xbox then you would probably prefer a 360.

5. What system has the controller you like better?

Beyond that I can't think of much else Sorry for the long read, but this is the most helpful your going to get and it's the most honest and fair answer.

yall ive done plenty of reasearch regarding the next gen, and no plans for xbox 720 or PS4 this year. yall dont forget wii was before both of them, thats why there movin foward (and cus they desperately need it cus wii SUCKS) so i wanna no which to buy

Look at the games and make a decision. However, new consoles may be announced soon, so I'd wait and see if they will be backwards compatible. If so, I'd wait until they come out to decide.

You have to see the pros and cons of each one, I did and I got a 360.

well what games do you want? Ps3 has a great variety of exclusives to play but if you just want to play online/multiplats then 360 might be better but both systems have great features.

Oh and here are a few common lies about boths sytems that you should be aware of. Anyone who says these things should be ignored.

Lie 1. One online service is more laggy than the other. Thisis a lie that comes around sometimes and it's complete BS, neither service is more laggy than the other, the online gameplay is EXACTLY the same. Only difference is that there are more mics on XBL than PSN, some people like that better but ohters find it annoying. Both have around the same number of people and the same amount of skilled and unskilled players online. But just ignore anyone who says that one service is more laggy, neither service is better for online or multiplayer, they are the same in that area.

Lie 2. Multiplats are better on one system then the other. Aside a couple of exceptions, all multplats look and play identicle. You'll be fine with games on either system, people saying otherwise are lieng and being idiots. It's a major exaggeration and complete BS.

Lie 3. No one buys games on the PS3/360, this is simply untrue. People buy games on both systems and they seem to sell around the same usually. No one is going out of business, don't worry.

Lie 4. Get a PC, if you were interested in PC gaming then you would have cared, but this isn't about that. Just ignore the PC fanboys.

Oh and I recommend ifyour interseted in a 360 that you get the Slim model (not the 4GB model), this is becasue older models were prone to crapping out and breaking. It was a complete disaster, luckily the new system doesn't do that. But just think about what YOU want, not what anyone else wants you to want...
