they should instead get samsung , nokia, sanyo or some cellphone co., to build a nice portable with cellphone capabilities (not ngage crap) that can handle native directx ...and sell portable games with mobile live kind of thing ...not a smartphone...
the screen should be bout twice the size of a razor, but it should as thin if not thinner, and come in various colors
they could port all the original xbox games to it (only the successful in japan if any)
and try to get some old IP from now defunct japan studios once popular...and some dating games Japanese luv those
and some Hentai stuff of course
[QUOTE="cobrax75"]pc games use dvds and go higher than 1080p...[QUOTE="daveg1"][QUOTE="snorlaxmaster"]First off thats called upscalling not native like the PS3 can do. And second, the harware may be able to do that but the DVD-9 does not support that high of a resolution.rockydog1111
1st compressing what? textures...code i dont understand
i dont think u understand how data is structured for video games...
fyi: there is lossless data compression , max. is 2:1 ie. u can take 1GB of data down to 500MG without removing any of the original data
I think I have CD games that can go to native 1080p.
uncompressed? decompression does cause the game to lose some of its bling.

xbox 360 only scales if it needs to , ps3 only downscales(something trivial to do on modern chipsets, upscale like 360 is more difficult i.e expensive)...if a game is being renedered @1920x1080 going to a true 1080p display no scaling is done, i dont think u guys understand this
if a game is rendered @1280x720 then send to 1920x1080 display xb360 will upscale the game if tell it to (Ps3 cannot do this)
dvd-9 is a disk capacity format not a video codec, i dont think u understand the difference between data type, and a storage format
i can fit (and have)1hr of 1920x1080 video on a dvd-9 disk
You are mistaken about the PS3 not being able to do 1080p. The PS3 is the only system that can do that natively (AKA made in that resolution) the 360 can only upscale games to that resolution which usually has less quality. Plus you are also mistaken that the PS3 can't do upscaling. It can upscale all PS2 Ps1 and DVDs to 1080p resolution (the same as 360) so if anything the PS3 has more abilities than the 360.once again ps3 like xb360 can render games(i.e grafx, game code) at 1920x1080 if instructed to (i.e. the game was written that way)
only the xbox 360 has a "hardware scaler" that can scale any of the content to 1080p (uses zero XENOS cpu cycles)
ps3 has a "software scaler" it uses Cell to scale some PS1AND 2 GAMES from 640x480(which most ps2 games were) to 1080p, it will never be able to scale a natively rendered game from 1280x720 to 1920x1080 (as it doesnt now)

to the display for all games and probably all content as well, if u have a display that is a true 1080p one i.e. 1:1 pixel your display will not scale a thing
xbox360 is the only console with a hardware scaler and with the biggest frame buffer (ps3 is inferior in both respects)
not all games are rendered at 1920x1080
and for the last time 1920x1080 mpeg (or derivative i.e. mpg2, h264, or vc1)data of video at 24or 30fps for an average movie will take up at least 12GB...not even taking into account audio
video games are not video encoded with modern codecs (except for ff or mgs ;))
video games are code, bins, txt, textures, and some audio
