I quit renting things a while ago...at $10 a game, it just started to make more sense to buy games WISELY. Especially when Block buster sells 6-month old games for $25

I bought dead space right when it came out and it was great... But, it only took about 12 hours to finish, so I started to wish I had rented it instead.

Dead space doesn't have much replay value, and you can beat it in a rental period...so it's perfect for renting.

It's a phenomenal game but not very long.

Like another poster said...play it in the dark with surround sound...awesome

I picked up a cheap laptop cooler, put my xbox on it, and plugged the cooler into a usb port on a docking station nearby (so it doesn't draw any power from the xbox)

It's probably not awesome, but it can't hurt. Ever though of doing that? It's a cheap solution (like $10) that might work well

Cables don't make a difference in what picture the xbox generates, they only transmit the info to your tv

If you have a 1080p tv then it might be worth it. If it's just 720p, it won't make any difference

In fact, components can do 1080p as I understand

HDMI can transmit video and audio in one cable... Other than that I don't think there's much difference

It's funny this thread pops up now since I just put the lappy cooler under my 360

After 2 hours of Left 4 Dead, I notice that the air blowing out the back doesn't feel as hot as it used to...Maybe it's just my imagination, but I could swear this cooler is actually worth the $9 I paid

I haven't heard great things about coolers. For starters, if the xbox is powering a cooler, then it's doing more than it normally would even if the cooler only uses a super small amount of power. Ventilation is the key.

That said, I do have a cooler under mine (It's a falcon chipset). I just had an old laptop cooling pad kicking around so I though I might as well put it to good use. In reality, a laptop cooler would only cool the underside of the xbox, and that won't do much, although it can't hurt.

But! the cooler is powered by a usb port on a nearby computer, so it's separate from the xbox

kinda hard to know if it's good without prices...

GTAIV isn't a great online game if that's what you're looking for, but it's fun single player

Why get the 20gb xbox now? The 60gb is standard for $299 (Canadian prices...so you might even get it cheaper depending on where you are)

If you want the 20gb, get the $199 arcade model and then buy a 20gb HD off ebay for $40...that might save you a little money but it's a big hassle.

The bestbuy card is interesting. You just have to be careful about 1 thing...If you don't pay it off before the no interest term, then ALL the interest that accrued over that term is due...(It's at 28.8% yearly in Canada...might be different rate where you are) so just make sure you pay if off :-)

enjoy your xbox!

So what? Patents are filed all the time and 90% of them amount to nothing
