One who buy a less capable product just because of the name or brand is a fanboy, thats the simple explanation.
I agre to a point with TC's first post, in many cases a AMD card is a better buy than one from Nvidia, the strongest reason might be the foul play Nvidia often try to run, like cutting out physX on your Nvidia card is you have it paired with a AMD card.
Controlling the licence for motherboards capable to SLI, now they actually alow the 990x chipset to run SLI but it has been a LOOOOONG time since AMD could lauch boards with SLI.
Relations with gamedevs. in some cases cripple AMD's option with AA and such.
J.H.H's incredible bully style, he talks about other companies as they're stupid from time to time.
But even what I think of Nvidia as a company they actually bring out some products with great performance at a great price, currently I am running a gtx460 and it have been a plesant companion with amazing price/performance when oc'ed well beond 900Mhz on the core.
AMD and Nvidia are need'ed both, without either they will both halt their reserch and make better GPU's.
IF AMD and Nvidia have two products that are comparable I would choose the AMD one, but if the Nvidia has the slightest edge I take that any day of the week.
