You dont watch TV while laying on your back?

How does any of that give an advantage in FPS games?

It has nothing to do with FPS games. Its a matter of being able to play while on your back. You cant do that with a KB/M.

I know Im not crazy. Im not the only one who games while lying down. There are times when I want to FPS on my PC. There are times when I want to be relaxed on my back and gaming.

KB/M and game pads have their pros and cons.

Is that a huge advantage for you, being able to lay down while playing? That is a bullet point for you when comparing consoles to PC?

Yeah... no.

There is no advantage the gamepad has over the mouse and keyboard. Even the analogue stick is negligible compared to the many advantages of the keyboard and mouse.

Why not? There are lots of pros and cons to each.

Can you play on the couch comfortably with a M/KB? Can you play a game while lying on your back? Can you choose how slow or fast you want your character to walk and not be limited to toggling walk/run with shift? Can you get the precision you need for racing games? How about fighting games? How about vibration?

What is with these replies of "can you play on the couch and can you play while laying on your back"? Is that seriously an advantage?

The one reason I always seem to see for choosing consoles over PC is that you can sit or lay on your couch and play, is that correct? If this isnt the major reason then what is?

The thing I find funny is that with a PC you have the option of using a gamepad, it's all about freedom with the PC as far as gaming. Witha console you are tied down to using only the gamepad, you have no choice and that bothers me. While one person may think a kb/m are horrible for a certain type of game doesn't mean someone doesnt love it. It is all about personal preference, maybe it is just me but I like to have choice and that is what PC gaming gives me.

It's tracking the movement of my hand, how is that not considered a motion controller?

The PS3 does have KB/M support, its just that dev's choose not to use it. You can use a keyboard for text anytime the VK comes up... I use one in WKC all the time to post on Geonet.

The only game I can think of right now that takes advantage of full use of KB/M on the PS3 is Unreal Tournament 3.

I know that you can use it to type and surf the internet, I do that with mine. I am just saying that these new technologies (Move and Kinect) are being sold to gain more of a user base of another type of gamer. Pretty big gamble whether or not people are going to buy these things, why not gain the PC crowd by adding kb/m support for games? I guarantee alot of PC gamers dont game on consoles due to the fact they have to use a gamepad. This whole motion control thing just seems like follow the leader just like 3D, why not give gamers what they want?

Just look at it as another way of playing the game, that is exactly what Move and Kinect are, other ways of playing the same game. If you dont want to use kb/m then don't, but why limit the ways to play? Just seems odd.

If either MS or Sony wanted to gain more owners of their systems all they had to do was add support for motion controls that have been around for years, mouse and keyboard support. A mouse is a motion controller!! I just find it funny how they are pushing these new technologies which are very risky and pricey when they could do something as simple as announcing kb/m support and would have gained many, many new gamers who are afraid of console gaming because of the lack of that support. Thoughts?
