First off neither FFXIII game is a terrible game, terrible compared to classic Final Fantasy(FF-FFX) sure, but also not the worst(close though). Second to me Final Fantasy died when Square merged with Enix over 10 years ago. I don't consider these Final Fantasy titles the same series(You see there is Square-soft Final Fantasy, and there are Square-Enix Final Fantasy two separate series(in my eyes)), nor expect them to be nearly as good, and maybe that is why I can actually enjoy them some what.

Go watch some old kung-fu movies come back to the games, and you will find it a blessing(I mean compared to the movies).
PS: BTW I love Kung-fu movies.
Huh you know I've never really even thought about this before, mainly because I've never had a controller break, or stop working(aside from my ps3 controller on PC, but that was a driver issue that I fixed 5 minutes after it happened). Maybe I've just been extremely lucky, but I've also never been one to throw controllers or anything, and I've always taken pretty good care of them.
PS: I play a lot of games really probably too many games, also I don't actually own a lot of consoles that I used to. I still have my PS2, GC, but really those are the oldest consoles I have anymore(controllers still work great).
Open World
This. A lot of the upcoming next-gen games seem very open-world oriented.
Yeah it does seem this way, and quite frankly I'm not sure if I would consider it a good thing. They are going to put too much time into making the games open world, and not enough into making the gameplay, story, etc good. I'm not worried about games like The Witcher, and Metal Gear(because Kojima is a perfectionist), but for less skilled, and/or rushed(by publishers) developers I think we are going to see an extreme decline in quality if this(focus on open world) is the case.
You may notice that RPG is my favorite genre when reading this list.
1. Skies of Arcadia
2. Metal Gear Series
-----just to save room for other games I'll make a seperate list for MGS games:
-----1. Metal Gear Solid 3(game was too damn good)
-----2. Metal Gear Solid
-----3. Metal Gear Solid 2(probably the best story out of the series, but you have to think(which some people don't like to do))
-----4. Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
-----5. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX not NES though I played it in MGS3: Subsistence)
-----6. Metal Gear Solid 4
-----7. Metal Gear (MSX not NES)
3. FInal Fantasy Vi
4. Final Fantasy X
5. Baldur's Gate 2
6. Xenoblade
7. LOZ: ALTTP/OOT (can't choose either way favorite of 2d/3d for me)
8. Dragon Age: Origins
9. X-com original
10. Persona 4
1. Metal Gear Solld GZ
2. X(Monolith Project)
3. Persona 5
4. Dragon Age: Inquisition
5. Project Eternity
6. The Witcher 3
7. South Park The Stick of Truth
8. Wasteland 2
9. FFXHD(hey it is one of my favorite games ever made(Blitzball being imo the best mini game ever made), and imo the 2nd best Final Fantasy. Just behind FFVI)
10. Tales of Xillia 2
Almost anything would be better than last gen imo. Worst gen I've been apart of(Snes-Today, was part of the Nes gen, but was very young).
Last gen lacked majorly in good Jrpg's(Xenoblade(and X is pretty much the only reason I own a Wii-U(I like it so far by the way)), The Last Story, and Lost Odyssey were simply phenomenal though).
I'm hoping, and I think there is a good chance that RPG's are going to be a major part of this gen.
I usually play games on hard(I find that most newer games hard difficulty to be the normal of older games), and then jack it up to a harder difficulty(if there is one) if I find it too easy(for XCOM I did go down to Normal just to be able to finish the game, I have since gone through Classic in Ironman mode, but probably not going to try impossible), but I really think it depends on the game. If you just want to play the game for the story then easy might be a better option for you.
MGS2 - The best part about the game imo was the part(story) that people complained the most about(besides Raiden), and only because they couldn't understand it. Still in my opinion the best game in the series when it comes to the story, even though I still consider MGS3 the best overall game of the series.
Aidyn Chronicles - A THQ RPG for the N64. The game got very low scores, and didn't do very well, but I loved the game. It has been a while since I've played it, but the gameplay was a blast imo. I love turn-based games, and miss turn based Rpg/Jrpg games.
Half-Life or Time-splitters(man I miss these games, so fun, best console fps's i've ever played) I can't choose.
I've been out of the loop of Fps's for a while(I got really sick of them because they all seemed to be the exact same thing) so maybe something has come out that was actually half good.
PS: Crysis was good, but Crysis 2, and 3 I feel were a step down from the first. Far cry was another good one where the sequels were no where near as good(imo) though Far cry's sequels were basically a different series in my eyes.
