1 problem with that article is that Sony had only a few weeks of supply problems, Microsoft had months. Sony's number would be higher at the 4 month mark due to plenty of supply compared to this time last year with the 360. The best sales number comparison would be to wait until the Ps3 has been out for a year and compare it to the 360's first year.
 

That would be a far better indicator than to compare a system that was hard to find during its first 4 months (360) to one that is readily available (Ps3)
