@asnakeneverdies: Survival Horror is my favorite genre as well but character development, recursive unlocking and thoughtful backtracking is(to me) not really what makes a game survival horror. To me it really is just a bunch of simple elements to what makes a survival horror game such as(what you just mentioned) inventory management, lack of ammo, resources, feeling like some weak fool when fighting a bunch of enemies or even one enemy, creepy enemy designs, and a creepy atmosphere. I can't deny that The Evil Within isn't a Survival Horror. All I can think of it as is a Survival Action/Horror. The DLC's improve on the Survival Horror aspect of what the original game was lacking since it was made by a different director rather than Shinji Mikami and The Evil Within 2 is being directed by the same person so hopefully it won't have much action as the first game. Hopefully inventory management as well.
@asnakeneverdies: I'm not sure what exactly made you say that(I really hope it was a troll quote) but wow that is stupid. Incredibly stupid. What exactly do you do in The Evil Within? Look for resources, ammo and crafting equipment, either hide or try to kill off enemies, etc. Now what does The Evil Within have? Creepy looking enemy designs, dark and creepy looking atmosphere, etc.
So what exactly made you say that? Maybe you were pissed, maybe you played on easy mode? I have no idea.
@gamingdevil800: Well it's an obvious joke since Bethesda have been jumping on the VR bandwagon with Fallout 4, Skyrim, and even Doom. I don't mind it and have no problem with it. But I can definitely agree Skyrim VR and Fallout VR are more fun than a Job Simulator. XD
@santinegrete: Backtracking??? In a game like this? How in the hell did they manage to add backtracking; I'm fine with facing a boss three times(This has happened in games I've played such as Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 7, Yakuza 0, etc.).
