Another Year Slips By... Who Wants Cake

Happy birthday to me! Actually it should be... happy belated birthday to me, since I've been without internet service for almost 36 hours. This year turned out to be a comedy of errors combined with Murphy's Law (anything that can go wrong, will), which shall make the day most memorable. Hopefully it's not an indication of things to come for the rest of the year. Anyway... help your self to some cake, we've got 2 different kinds.

"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but your older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say"

Video Game Blues... Or Rather, The Lack Of

For the first time in my long and illustrious gaming career, the unthinkable has happened... I lost my saved game  I've been playing The Godfather: Blackhand Edition for the Nintendo Wi. I had roughly 39 hours of play time invested, and was 96% finished... I had planned on getting a 100% completion and becoming The Don of NYC with this save file. But I thought I'd start a new game and apply everthing I've learned so I could get a lower game time (I was hoping to cut it half). When I went to save the 1st time in the 2nd game I didn't get the option to pick a save file location, and it automatically wrote over the old game save. The thing that shocked me the most, was my complete lack of reaction... I must be maturing :)

Animal Crossing: Wild World Update

This game saw it's US release on 12 DEC 05, and I have played daily since picking up my reserved copy. In the past 15 months and some odd weeks... I've logged far more hours than I'll ever be able to remember, and I've achieved the following goals:

I own the mansion, with all expansions completed and paid for.
I've managed to collect 65 different neighbor's portraits.
The museum is filled with all the required donations.
My Town Hall bank account currently has 165 million bells deposited.
Tom Nook's store has been upgraded to Nookingtons, and my catalog is full EXCEPT for 1 item.

The last item I'm missing is the Town Hall Model which requires a deposit of 999,999,999 bells in you bank account at Town Hall. So, without the "help" of an Action Replay for the DS (which I don't own or want) I will not be be meeting my final goal. Now it's time to put AC:WW away and move on to a new challenge. I'm looking forward, with great anticipation, to the Wii version of Animal Crossing. I just hope it'll be awhile before it's released... I need to catch up on life in the real world first.

Level 23

It took exactly 2 months to advance to the next level... I should probably spend a little more time here, then it wouldn't take as long to level up.

Level 22

Not that it really matters... my curiosity has gotten the best of me, and I plan to keep track when I level up. I want to see how long on average it takes to advance.

After 2 Years... Finally!!!

My 1st ever blog entry... hopefully the next entry won't take as long.

More importantly... finally the Nintendo Wii has been released. I called in sick to work the day GameStop took pre-orders, and I was 8th in line. I was 1st in line for the midnight launch. On Wednesday I even broke down and bought a wireless router, and my brother hooked it up on Friday. It was an expensive week in gaming for me.

My Wii console code is... 5526-0736-4834-9085. Let me know what your code number is. If I can tear myself away from LOZ: TP long enough, I'll get DS friend codes for MarioKart and Animal Crossing. Hey! I think I just found a topic for my next blog entry.
