1) It's called "Screen Burn-in reduction" (on the wii options menu)
2) Most HDTV's are LCD's or Plasmas, and either one gets completely busted if a still image is left on it too long. The pixels literally burn in the image (hence called screen burn-in). Sorry, dude, you have to get a new HDTV.
Well, microsoft owns rare now, so it will be a long time before you see a perfect dark made for wii. Rare cant go multi-platform/multi-company because it has a contract with microsoft. It may be a possibility for rare to allow the rights to perfect dark 64 to be released on the vc.
