@VGamesrule First off, real level headed comment. Second, no one solely depends on their reviews thats silly. If that were true every game would be a ten and reviews would be completely meaningless, which is what it sounds like you would like.
So much hate for a 7. When did 7 become a "bad" score? Its if anything the upper end of average, not great not poor just pretty decent. If a game gets below an 8 everyone starts complaining "gamespot must not have gotten paid". Then when a game gets above an 8 everyone starts complaining "gamespot got paid off!". The truth is the internet has turned into a bunch of whiners and cynical jerks that prefer to be contrarians to anyone's OPINION. This journalist expressed his opinion, thats all a review is. ONE person's OPINION. You do not have to agree, you do not have to like it, just stop being so god damn cynical.
While I disagree with the marketing firm, they are a marketing firm. They very well might be reporting 100% factual information to the company. Regardless of the increasing female gaming market, the market is most definitely predominantly male, especially in this type of genre. Now do I agree with the firm? Hell no. If developers only cared about pleasing a majority nothing would ever change. I applaud Naughty Dog in its attempt to blur the line between male and female into the name of gamer. Lets hope more companies follow suit and try to break the bounds of whats most "acceptable". Its clear from the other comments here that we arent all intolerant males. Lets keep moving that forward, games can only get better when we as a collective society accept everything/everyone and leave nothing out to bigotry. Good storytelling doesnt come from genders it comes from perspective, more perspectives equals more varied stories. I dont know about all you but I dont want to still be playing as a dudebro in "insert sandy country" with no other motivation than "they is bad I is good" storytelling 20 years from now. And I apologize for that wall of text.
@Suikogaiden @stuckboy No, its not an opinion that the games have a mature +18 rating. You are legally an adult at 18 and are allowed to view such things as kissing. Whether its a guy or girl its still kissing, lips are lips....and parents have no sway over what an adult wants to play.
I pirate all the time. That being said I would NEVER EVER pirate something I wouldnt plan on buying after the fact if I liked it. Would you buy a car because it only looked good at the dealers? No...youd test drive it first. It may be "cheap" to you to not want to just pay the ten dollars, but I dont want to waste my money even if its a penny.
