@moonlightwolf01 Absolutely. As some other people have been saying genre comes first and then the protagonist. I just love talking about all sorts of video game characters and this was a fun way of looking at it for me. Thanks for all your input guys, I love hearing what you reckon about stuff that I think is interesting enough to do video features on! Interesting to hear how many of you are all for playing superheroes and how many are rooting for the Everyman ;)
@Michael83917 Everyman doesn't necessarily have to be synonymous with "couch potato". Just look at Gordon Freeman. Half Life wouldn't have been the same with an ultra special protagonist. But thanks for your two cents, interesting to think about it from a design perspective. @Hamwize That's why I was talking about them 3:30 onwards ;)
@ermhm Ask the Sims fans =P @bgghgubcjhgknjk Sorry, it's tricky to mention every relevent game. Batman is a great example. He could serve for a whole video.
@ahpuck And why wouldn't you be?? You've been slaying dragons for 45 levels by then! @roddy72 You are too right. I will now use Heavy Rain as an example in every video. It's an excellent game after all. @Daddio93 I'm glad you enjoyed it! I like making them =] @angry_girlgamer Fair enough, personal preference. Do you think so? How would you like me to have researched it? @OHGFawx Yeah, I completely agree. That's why I was so crazy about Beyond Good and Evil for most of it. Being an everyday photojournalist who gets swept up with aliens and all that is very cool. Especially when you can beat them up ;]
@RoseFlambe169 I'm so sorry! @hemoleech I agree =] Thanks for your thoughts! @Cell_kl Totally, I'm not bashing them. Just making an observation =] @OHGFawx Heavy Rain is a great example. I think most of my favourite games have Everymen as their protagonists.
