Roberts is lying when he claims 1 MILLION BACKERS - People have multiple accounts. He is also effectively claiming project management is so bad in the games industry that he is justified in missing any and every deadline he has made or will make.

Is he lying for marketing reasons or through ignorance ?

He is extremely patronising to the many professionals working in engineering, business and many other fields including games development when he is glosses over his mismanagement of the project so far and treats people like idiots.

This project can fail, more backers should recognise this and journalists owe their readers a warning they have a very real risk of losing their money if they fork out on SC.
